@therealcanwater They both eventually had hands on the ball, and Cooks clearly lost control when his back hit the turf. It wasn’t really ripped away like I thought earlier, the DB just secured it as Cooks let it go.

This is why I’ll never get that “survive the ground” and “if there was no db there” stuff. He survived the ground, if there’s no db there it’s a catch. This is called a catch for 31 other teams.

Stripped from his hands but ruled down by contact with an offensive catch on this play but not cooks

Anyone with momentum is going to be able to rip the ball out. It truly opens it up for any db to do so moving forward even after the pass catcher hits the ground with possession and being contacted by the defender. A dangerous precedent was set !!!!

I don’t see how they said he was losing control when he hit the ground. It was between their bodies when it hit the ground and you can see the DB rip it away as he rolls over him. Down by contact or tie goes to receiver. Either way that should have been a catch. Looks clear to me

Every single week he had a questionable catch while playing here. Crazy. Think the NFL gives a 32 year old nfl vet some benefit of the doubt but he's got a bills uniform on so nope. Has to be a chiefs or patriots jersey

Just hold on to it like it’s your job and we don’t have to talk about it.

Looks like Jaquan had more possession of the ball than cooks

Is this play a catch and fumble? Hardman hits the ground with possession and then immediately loses it. It feels like that’s what you’re trying to argue with the interception play.

Sure did but couldn’t hold it to make certain it was a catch. One day someone will make the play for Allen. I’ve watched enough football to know that SB Champs have contributors all over the field. Unfortunately Allen’s main target at the end was added 2 months ago.

Ball was never secure as he hit the ground.

Looks like Cooks loses control of the ball before his shoulder hits. Which by rule is an incomplete catch.

He survived the ground .. but afterward a DB ripped it out pretty clearly a catch … unless the game is rigged

He literally doesn’t have the ball right here. The catch was not competed before this. If McMillan isn’t there, and the ball came out at this same point, it would be ruled incomplete. Idk why this is hard for people. He can’t be down by contact without completing the process.

Surviving the ground doesn’t mean only until you stop the clip. If he rolled over with it and kept possession but he didn’t

Just not the ball

It’s funny because that’s the angle that shows he didn’t. The ball is moving before he hits the ground. And he’s also not a runner, so he’s not down, didn’t make a football move, and needs to survive the ground. If the ball comes out a second (even half) later, it’s a catch.

Two hands firmly on the ball from cooks and one from the defender. He maintains control until he’s flat on his back during the barrel roll and the defender is coming over the top and pulling it out. Not sure where people see the ball moving or “popping out”

Pretty clearly if you go frame by frame. But they called it an INT on the field and weren’t going to overturn on review in Denver.

@grok is the a reception or interception?

@GeneSteratore where is the clear movement of the ball from cooks hitting the ground? This looks pretty clear he wasn’t going to fumble if the defender wasnt there but u stated that 4 times on the show today saying clearly the ball being loose from impact. @richeisen @KyleBrandt
