Lord Sumption explains precisely why we should leave the ECHR. Marr: "Would you advocate us getting out?" Sumption: "I would now. I've come reluctantly and slowly to that conclusion." Worth a watch. 👍

Leaving the ECHR continues to be a total distraction and its such a radical policy the tories will be deeply split if ever actually agreed, which is unlikely. The entire focus should be repeal of the Human Rights Act 1998. Thats the problem. Repealing it is possible.

@oflynnsocial Again, I’d point out that France is rejecting 75% of Asylum claims and the U.K. is accepting 75%, highlighting that although both countries are under ECHR jurisdiction it’s obvious that it’s the U.K’s Civil Servants who are the enemy within. Do we want to give them more power?

@tartanpirate1 100% this is the case. The Remoaners, wokes and lefties will now pull up a tired old list of their ECHR ‘commandments’ and say “which ones would you do away with then?” 🥱 They wilfully ignore that it doesn’t send us into a black hole. That we can replace the laws we want to.

Don't even need to leave it, just ignoring it when you want like the rest of the EU would be enough. All talk, too late.

#LordSumption has indeed Belatedly and reluctantly reached the conclusion of many that the U.K. should withdraw from ECHR

Lord Sumption's argument seems to be that the court is seeking ever increasing powers. If that's the case, why is there a move to leave its jurisdiction only in the UK?

@LeilaniDowding It is so frustrating how so these so called high intellect admired people as so just so either thick or groomed into the eu agenda ideology and leave mere mortals hanging for years when our lesser minds see the truth instantly.
