Lord Sumption explains precisely why we should leave the ECHR. Marr: "Would you advocate us getting out?" Sumption: "I would now. I've come reluctantly and slowly to that conclusion." Worth a watch. 👍

In full here...

A very thoughtful and well-reasoned contribution to the debate. Good man.

Ha ha lefty Marr wasn’t expecting that! Lord Sumption should be listened to but the Left will hate what he’s saying.

@Riccardo_Giovan Go Jonty! Ridiculous for UK to be ruled from Strasburg, May did us up like a kipper!

Good. Friday. Agreement. Let's see how that goes....

Leaving the ECHR continues to be a total distraction and its such a radical policy the tories will be deeply split if ever actually agreed, which is unlikely. The entire focus should be repeal of the Human Rights Act 1998. Thats the problem. Repealing it is possible.

@oflynnsocial Again, I’d point out that France is rejecting 75% of Asylum claims and the U.K. is accepting 75%, highlighting that although both countries are under ECHR jurisdiction it’s obvious that it’s the U.K’s Civil Servants who are the enemy within. Do we want to give them more power?

@tartanpirate1 100% this is the case. The Remoaners, wokes and lefties will now pull up a tired old list of their ECHR ‘commandments’ and say “which ones would you do away with then?” 🥱 They wilfully ignore that it doesn’t send us into a black hole. That we can replace the laws we want to.

Good news 👌🏻

Don't even need to leave it, just ignoring it when you want like the rest of the EU would be enough. All talk, too late.

@TiceRichard If we don’t it’s safe to say we’ve had it

#LordSumption has indeed Belatedly and reluctantly reached the conclusion of many that the U.K. should withdraw from ECHR

It was, thanks.

Good heavens is remainer Sumption waking up? Is his ivory tower up on the Heath ok?

@bencobley @SDPhq ahead of the game on this

@fredgs05 This man has taken a remarkably intelligent, balanced and common sense stance throughout the past 3 years. I really rate his opinion.

No thanks. Lose more of our rights and protections

@JohnFrankland18 If Lord Sumption says we have no choice…….

The EHCR is an integral part of the GFA.

@TiceRichard Why bother the whole uk is finished as a society we’re all just waiting for the inevitable collapse to arrive

Rishi doesn't have any intention of leaving he is the weakest PM in my lifetime a hindu should not be running a Christian country

This energy

@jt1656 Reluctantly and slowly. Oh dear.

Thats right, give up our rights to a bunch of money grabbing tory layabouts.

James O' Brien must have been spitting his lentils out listening to that.

Lord Sumption's argument seems to be that the court is seeking ever increasing powers. If that's the case, why is there a move to leave its jurisdiction only in the UK?

Anyone buying this after the con of brexit needs to leave the country and go elsewhere

So happy for us the British people to lose all our rights. After all the plebs deserve no rights.

Hear Hear! The ECHR is fundamentally undemocratic. The U.K. should leave the ECHR asap @RishiSunak @SuellaBraverman @Conservatives @GBNEWS @elonmusk @FoxNews @DailyMailUK @Nigel_Farage

For all those idiots who think we will lose human rights if we leave a treaty.

Most of us with a working brain & a backbone don't need an explanation.

@LeilaniDowding It is so frustrating how so these so called high intellect admired people as so just so either thick or groomed into the eu agenda ideology and leave mere mortals hanging for years when our lesser minds see the truth instantly.

Listen and learn how we are being subjugated?
