Idea: How about we make public school teachers wear body cameras so they can share in those daily indoctrination lessons. We could also see how many times a month they actually teach reading, writing and arithmetic. “Arithmetic” is math…… for you teachers from Chicago and Baltimore.

Public schools must remain politically neutral and cannot appear to endorse or sponsor specific viewpoints (due to the Establishment Clause and general First Amendment neutrality requirements for government entities). Speech by employees in the course of their duties (e.g., in the classroom or while supervising students) is often considered "on behalf of the school district" and receives little to no First Amendment protection (per cases like Garcetti v. Ceballos).

This is why we are against banning cell phones. IF a state that does this gets SEL, Restorative Justice, and ASCA counselors out of the schools, then removing cell phones is fine. But to do so without getting rid of what is ACTUALLY causing all the academic decline is a cheap short cut that will not improve academics and only serve to allow teachers like this to not be exposed.

What's pretty disgusting is that a teacher is focused on anything but improving academic achievement in a school district where 3rd gr reading proficiency looks like this. All three schools below 70% proficient, and one of those was at 47% proficient. Source:
