At our core, we just want to feel appreciated. When we don’t, we start seeking it in the wrong ways. This is the root of so many gender conflicts men and women who feel unseen trying to demand validation from people who don’t care. it’s kind of tragic.

Something I heard many years ago that goes along with this: love is 10% emotion and 90% devotion.
This video is going to irritate a lot of people, but it's the bottom-line truth. Your goal each day has to be to love your spouse in the way that makes them feel loved. Regardless of is that is buying granola or having sex. Regardless of how often. We should view each opportunity each day as a privilege from God.
So much truth, and so easy to fall into that rut. Love is a decision, not an emotion. Everyday you have to decide to show up to make the world a better place for the ones who mean the most…..first. Then, expand that circle and make life better for a stranger.

We encountered a young couple on their honeymoon not long ago. They asked us what the secret was. I immediately said 'gratitude'. She was shocked. Said they had never heard that before. Premarital teaching is so completely deficient.
Love is kindness, compassion, understanding, patience, forgiveness, steadfast, APPRECIATION, loyalty, empathy, strong, courageous, giving, fearless, etc, etc. So yeah, appreciation is a love based emotion. Therefore, love can save a relationship.
I’ll only add that men eventually equate appreciation to respect. And I’ve never met a man who received those things from his woman who doesn’t jump through hoops to “over reciprocate” I’m sure they exist but I just don’t personally know narcissistic jerks.
