Love this clip from today. Triggernometry has a climate change denialist Ian Plimer on to set him up with softballs. Their "pushback" questions are always "why do those lying climate change scientists disagree with you?" Then after he lays out a series of false, debunked, and misleading claims, they... show more

Inconsequential, but I also love Plimer's beyond parody incorrect pedantry around the word "belief" right at the beginning, saying that if you say anyone believes any scientific claim then you must mean that they have an unscientific religious faith in it. So silly.

I try not to judge people by their looks but the Triggernometry hosts look like the dumbest people I can imagine.

That these two clowns have an audience at all is an indictment of this era. Their whole gimmick is, “we’re just common-sense independents calling it like we see it.” Meanwhile, they’re clearly right-wing hacks serving up rehashed science denial, among other reactionary gems.

Oh my god! I HATE when people talk about the word 'believe' like this. You believe in all sorts of things that have nothing to do with religion and politics. You believe the sky is blue. You believe you have hands. You believe Sacramento is the capital of California!

Meanwhile, back in the real world ...

Just wondering: Are these guys centrist liberals? I'm a bit confused cos it's been 5 minutes since they told me that's what they were (while nodding along to Tommy Robinson or something). Also: what country is Kisin from? He never mentions it or how it gives him great insight.

So why don’t you go on their show and refute it. No one from the other side will go on their show. They’ve tried.

OK I will go on their show

notice how you dont refute any claims, you just say they are refuted and take a W. you are a fucking idiot and this type of propaganda doesnt work any more

Its not surprising as their guest list would evaporate in a second if they started pressing them hard. I wouldnt mind their grift if they did not insist on devaluing the word honest. This man is not a scientist he is a mining executive who got a degree in geology in 1976.

We do not need CERTAINTY to act on climate change. If I play "Russian Rullette", there's a 83% chance I'll be fine. But why I would I risk DEATH? If we continue to use oil, there's a HIGH CHANCE we'll be fine. But why would we risk EXTINTION?!

even on the geology Pilmer fails- the 600 million plate tectonic cycle was news to me as was the Sturtian glaciation having 100 times more CO2 than today the guy is an idiot

@mehdirhasan When you see the global panic about oil you understand that all this climate change is fake and in the real world energy access is way more important. Nobody gives af about climate change

What other show takes this format? Who else does sit down interviews with two (2) interviewers, one guest, and only one set of opinions between the three of them? I guess it's just talk radio

@mehdirhasan Well, @triggerpod’s whole business model is to find an audience as dumb as them which isn’t hard to do when you cater to the right.

Hahahahhaha Actually he correctly points out we’ve had 40 years of failed models And “climate change denier” is a propaganda term. I bet not one of you can tell me what % of earths atmosphere is co2 or when the last ice age was.

@mehdirhasan Rich coming from you who runs an extremely partisan news agency

Konstantin doesn’t believe in vaccines either

Yeah, the climate science has been spot on.

Credibility Red Flags: 1. Use of the phrase "climate change denialist" 2. Use of the phrase "IDW content" 3. If either 1 or 2 is present, assume zero credibility.

They're just asking questions. Stupid questions, admittedly.

There are hundreds of scientists who disagree that AGW exists or is a problem. But you’ll rarely see them given a voice on msm or provided with gobs of government funding.

They have been doing the same with a lot of their guests. I've noticed it more predominantly in their interview with Tommy Robinsson. No pushback whatsoever, hardly an interview but monologues, you can see they are not prepared.

Those 2 guys are morons.

Most of the dire predictions of the climate scientist lobby over past decades haven’t borne out. They consistently overestimate. Don’t judge them by their consensus; judge them by the accuracy of their predictions.

Kissin: I am not a Republican conservative Also Kissin: agrees more with Trump that Charlie Kirk or Matt Walsh lmfaooo

Does Ian cut his own hair?

"the government throws them a few Sheqels" is uhh....an interesting choice of phrase. I if this guy has any other odd beliefs.

It's also funny that he looks like an absolute crank. I think it's the hair.

There was an ice age. There was a Great Flood. Libs told us we were going to have an ice age back in the late 1960's, early 1970's. Climate change is a hoax. The sun is now hotter, and has larger explosions right now. There is no man made climate change. God Almighty controls.

Deniers platforming deniers. What a load of bollocks.

So debate him then.

lmao, Pilmer is a widely-known hack imbecile. Nobody with a brain could give 2 shits what he has to say on CC.
