So really, they don’t stop their welfare payments when they are not eligible for them. I really wonder what is the agenda here? Instead of wasting this money they should fix the underfunded pensions, infrastructure , health system etc etc
Nope even with deportation orders they keep their dole and accommodation, A 'failed 26 year old African asylum seeker who was given a deportaion order in waiting to be deported was staying at the Citywest luxury hotel where he allegedly raped a 10-year-old girl.
Shocking, doesn’t make any sense that the government would do that, why would they leave if they are being paid to stay. That poor girls life is ruined and Michael Martin is only worried about people protesting not the girl that was the governments responsibility to protect.

It is clear that she has very little skill in delivering her objectives. What she does have is a history of cronyism (just look at her Tayto Park links). She also has an uncanny ability to lie straight in front of RTE cameras. Her obligation to protect Irish citizens has been a complete farce. Only in Ireland could you be "ordered" to leave, then return to your taxpayer funded accommodation and meals for 6 mths before then raping a child. I would like to know who holds the record for staying housed and fed having been told to go. Any way to find that out?

EU rules allow DETENTION for up to 18 months for those with deportation orders. Many EU countries do this and take the person in DETENTION even while they appeal the deportation order. @MichealMartinTD and @OCallaghanJim CHOSE to let those with deportation orders to roam freely.

The most incompetent minister for justice we ever had, so far, and returned to government as a minister, how does that reflect on her constituents.
They should never be allowed move about the country freely until they have permission to remain. That way, as soon as they’re given a deportation order, they can be brought to the airport and sat on the next plane.

It might appear to be very simple but this is Ireland so nothing is very simple. A plethora of NGO’s would be immediately on their cases, a multitude of human rights lawyers and activists, multiple appeals, European Courts of Justice,…eventually maybe a “self deportation” order
