is the dock actually refracting the live windows behind it or just a blurred wallpaper snapshot? that's the part even macOS fudges, and it's what makes it read as glass vs frosted plastic

Its a blurred wallpaper snapshot, on wayland outside of hyprland its pretty hard to do anything else

so outside hyprland it's wallpaper blur + specular, not live refraction. at dock distance does the eye still buy it as glass, or does a moving window behind it instantly go plastic?
