They fled Syria claiming Bashar al-Assad was a monster. They told the West they were escaping genocide, oppression, and indiscriminate violence. They filled out asylum applications, spoke to journalists, posted on social media, and aligned themselves with the narrative that Syria had become unlivable, solely because of Assad. Now, Assad is no longer in power. The war has ended. Sanctions are beginning to lift. A Sunni president, Ahmad al-Shara, has replaced him. And yet, many of those same refugees refuse to return. Why? This recent video of a Syrian man in Germany says it all. He arrived just before the regime change and secured temporary protection. Now that deportations are resuming, he’s furious. But here's the catch, he’s a Sunni Muslim being sent back to a Sunni-led Syria. No longer can he claim persecution. No longer can he point to Assad. But he still doesn’t want to go back. This reveals what many of us knew all along: it was never just about Assad. Many of these men weren’t fleeing extermination, some left willingly, others were encouraged by Western-backed NGOs and media to flee and speak against their own state. They played their part in a war of narratives. Now that the West is done with them, and Syria is "stable", they’re being asked to go home and they’re outraged. You said, "Assad must go." Well, now he's gone and you gotta go too.

There is always an attempt to silence anyone who mentions corruption in the judiciary, as if judges are infallible. Juju made Judge President Tlaletsi to admit that there is a problem of sexual harassment in the judiciary after he kept ducking and diving from the truth. It goes without saying that the same judges who are susceptible to sexual harassment would be to corruption as well. This nonsense of wanting to portray the judiciary as being occupied by some special breed of infallible humans must stop.

After paying my respects at the feet of Mahadev Baba and seeking His blessings, I participated in the Vijay Sankalp Sabha in Haldia in the presence of the Hon'ble Union Education Minister; Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Ji. Thereafter, accompanied by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Ji and former State President Shri Dilip Ghosh, and thousands of enthusiastic BJP West Bengal Karyakartas and Supporters, we participated in a grand procession and marched towards the Haldia SDO Office and filed my Nomination. The people of West Bengal are eager to free themselves from the misrule and autocratic governance of the Trinamool Congress. The undefeated spirit and enthusiasm shown by the thousands of workers who joined today’s procession make it crystal clear that the BJP along with the people of West Bengal is fully prepared to liberate the state from the misrule of the Trinamool Congress.
