Broccoli sprouts don't actually contain sulforaphane by themselves. (That's the anti-cancer molecule that also helps you repair DNA damage and is neuroprotective.) JUST IN: Florida’s AG announces subpoenas for General Mills and Pillsbury over their use of potassium bromate, a chemical linked to cancer, DNA damage, and even possible hearing loss. Attorney General James Uthmeier: "There's been sufficient evidence of ties to kidney, thyroid, and abdominal cancer. It is a genotoxic, causing oxidative stress.
