I commend the swift, coordinated and resolute action of our Law Enforcement Agencies. In a major breakthrough, last night Kolkata Police STF, in coordination with the Purulia District Police, successfully intercepted a major interstate drug trafficking operation. Acting on a tip-off, a truck was intercepted on NH-18 near the Belkuri Toll Plaza under Purulia Muffasil PS. A large quantity of contraband (ganja) was recovered from a specially concealed cavity behind the driver's seat. Two escort vehicles moving from Odisha towards Asansol alongside the truck was also intercepted and 7 individuals have been detained in total. West Bengal Govt maintains a Zero-tolerance Policy towards illegal drug trafficking and any unlawful activities that threaten the safety and well-being of our Youth and Society. #BREAKING: 200 places raided in Kulgam, Kashmir. Kulgam Police in Kashmir Raids Houses/Premises of Members of Banned Organisation Jamaat-e-Islami. In a major crackdown against the banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), Kulgam Police today conducted raids at over 200 locations across the district. The raids were carried out at the houses and premises of JeI members and their associates, as part of sustained efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem and its support structure at the grassroots level. During the past four days, more than 400 Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) have been conducted across different areas of the district at the premises of OGWs , JKNOPS , Places where encounters took place in past , hide outs of active/ killed terrorists.These operations have led to the interrogation of around 500 individuals affiliated with JKNOPs and other banned outfits, many of whom have been bound down and shifted to District Jail Mattan, Anantnag under preventive laws. During the raids, incriminating material and digital devices were seized, and several JeI members were interrogated and bound down to further trace and disrupt networks aiding terrorism. Kulgam Police remains steadfast in its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its ecosystem, ensuring that no element is allowed to disturb peace and public order in the district.

Today, on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking - 2026, I had the honour of inaugurating the Anti-Drug Awareness Week organised by the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate at the ICCC, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The fight against drugs is not just a police priority it is a societal responsibility. I want to be very clear, the deadline is now. I have asked every officer, from Home Guard level to DGP, to remain committed to this fight so that our own children do not fall prey to it. What was once a transit point for drug trafficking has now become a consumption zone. Post-COVID, drug consumption has risen in both urban and rural areas. Our children are being targeted traffickers are going as far as mixing narcotics in chocolates and biscuits to hook young minds. This is nothing short of an anti-national activity. This is more dangerous than terrorism or Naxalism today and we must treat it with the same urgency. If there is no demand, there will be no supply. Reducing demand is our collective responsibility. I took an oath today along with my officers and the students present eradicating drugs is our priority, and EAGLE Force is in full action. We are working in close coordination with the School Education Department, DRI, Enforcement Directorate, and Customs to tackle this at every level. The Education Department has been asked to establish Anti-Drug Safety Clubs in every educational institution. Schools that fail to comply will risk losing their recognition. I urge every parent to monitor their children closely, and appeal to families and society to help rehabilitate addicts through de-addiction centres. Keeping our youth away from drugs is the foundation for a golden future of our nation. My heart brimmed with devotion as I stood in her presence, praying for the health and well-being of our Ma, Mati, Manush. In honour of Boro Maa, the ferry ghat adjacent to her temple will be renamed after her. To support the development of the ghat, ₹10 lakh from MPLADS funds will be allocated. Furthermore, a police outpost and a high-mast lamp will be established. Additionally, two new OPDs will soon be inaugurated in Bhatpara and Naihati. Our Government, along with all public representatives, remains steadfast in working for the progress and prosperity of this area.

The resounding uludhwani of our mothers and sisters, and the thunderous applause of our brothers, charged the air with an energy and emotion that words can barely capture. It is on the strength of this love, and with these blessings, that we press forward in our mission for Bengal's development. The zamindars sitting in Delhi have long treated Bengal as an afterthought, a state to be exploited during elections and ignored thereafter. The BJP makes sweeping promises to Bengal every five years, yet when the time comes to deliver, they withhold funds that rightfully belong to this state and its people. This is a deliberate betrayal. The people of Bengal have seen through it, and they will no longer accept it. Outsiders cannot understand Bengal, its soil, its soul, its centuries of culture and resistance. They come here with the politics of division; we answer with the politics of development. Trinamool Congress has stood by the people of Bengal through every storm, and we will continue to do so. This election is Bengal's moment to speak.
