That’s not something new. Solid tyres were used for centuries, they were made of rubber, wooden, or other solid materials. Then came John Boyd Dunlop and in 1888 he invented inflatable pneumatic (air filled) tyre. These tires absorb the shocks much better, and have better contact with the road. As we all new. So do not try this at home :)
