Yesterday, Michael King, Freddy Fermin, Jake Cronenworth, Jason Adam, Jase Bowen and Jefry Yan joined MLBPA staff to pack meals with Feed My Starving Children. Together, we packed more than 7,000 meals, which will be distributed to partners around the world who feed communities in need. Tipping our caps to Big League Impact and the Players Trust, who made the first-ever food packing event in our NY headquarters a success!

A couple of weeks ago, I heard the term period poverty for the first time. To be honest, I had never heard of it before. But as a husband and the father of a little girl, I believe it’s my responsibility to understand the challenges women and girls face. Something as natural as a period should never be a barrier to education, opportunity, or dignity. That’s why I’m launching Million Voices. This isn’t just a South African issue it’s a human dignity issue. Together, we can make sure that one million women and girls have access to the menstrual health products they need to live, learn and thrive with dignity. Join my voice. Yesterday, council unanimously approved my motion to improve and expand access to emergency day shelters and dedicated day shelter spaces for the winter of 2025–2026. What does this mean? It means that people experiencing homelessness will now have more places to go during the day to receive support and care. It means that more Edmontonians will enjoy safer communities. It means less pressure on workers in our libraries and public spaces. And it means that we’re building a stronger Edmonton, together, by supporting those who need it the most.

What gives Jamaica its true strength is the power of our local communities, our brotherhood and sisterhood, coming together in times of disaster. I am especially heartened by what the Chinese Benevolent Association is doing to support our people in this difficult period. With more than 150,000 homes damaged, the needs across the island are immense. Government resources alone cannot reach everyone as quickly as we would want, which is why your contribution is so important. I want to commend the many other groups, organizations, and individuals, both here and abroad, who continue to stand with Jamaica. Your generosity, service, and solidarity are helping to hold up families and rebuild communities across the island. You all help create a synergy far greater than anything we could accomplish separately.

A RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL TRUTH: It’s sad how some kids were put in residential schools when res or day schools became mandatory. Also important to know that for decades prior, indigenous kids were enrolled by parents who wanted education for them. Parents like the grandparents of Ellis Ross. The MP, was raised by parents who went to residential school and raised him to be independent, not DEPENDENT on the gov. When he served as Chief Councillor of the Haisla Nation, Ross helped his community become more independent and escape poverty through economic development. Making them less bound by the Indian Act. Aka more free. And that my friends, is a far more caring and effective approach to helping indigenous Canadians than BC’s socialist NDP’s never ending reconciliation & oppression agenda.

I’ve just been to Coffee4Craig and delivered over 10 bags of shoes, clothes and a load of food that Matty the chef will put to good use. The cold wet months are approaching faster than you think so I’m leaving my dignity at the door here and asking for more of your support. Having David May with me today was both surreal and inspiring, he too is shares the same frustrations as many regarding the homeless crisis, let’s all club together and help those who need helping. Remember NEED ISN’T WEAK, NEED IS NEED ❤️❤️❤️

It was a privilege to be joined by Mr. Danish Aman, Mr. Aamir Chootani, Pir Noorullah Qureshi, DIG Faizullah Korejo, Mr. Ayub Khoso, Mr Taimur Siddique and other esteemed supporters, who witnessed firsthand the impact their support is creating on ground. This is the purpose that drives us—to go beyond relief and build communities with access to healthcare, dignity, and opportunity. I remain humbled to see this vision taking shape and deeply grateful to those who continue to stand with us in turning intent into lasting impact. #HopeNotOut
