Making a phyiscs engine - done. Inventing physics based gameplay - in progress. Got any ideas how could physics be used in a game?

some kind of physics based puzzle game? a platformer where everything is destructible and physics based? (like Noita, every pixel is simulated)

Yea, or like that "Mosa Lina" game, but less minimalistic.

Look no further than noita. They did it

Yes, it's in my list of references.

You are a scientist in a lab creating dangerous alien chemicals for research. If any combination of mixtures breaches containment, game over.

Spacecrafts & space travel! Though it needs a completely different type of physics engine 😅 Seriously though, physics-based resource mining & crafting? Might be fun but ofc needs a lot of experimentation & designing

It's one of the ideas in my list. I especially like it, because it doesn't require sophisticated locomotion, you just fly.

A worms-like game where you can cool down environmental effects when things are destroyed.

In my opinion, the best way to benchmark this would be to keep the engine as open as possible, with a simple sandbox where users can share their creations.

would be cool to control a small person or character trying to navigate maps and various things destroy it. like a giant office building as robots or aliens attack. idk if thats the direction you're taking it though

In general, a platformer with realistic destruction of environment and enemies is one of the main candidates.

There are so many possibilities with this, and the gameplay seems so fun and replay able. I would go with any and every type of idea for gameplay, maps, rules, characters, etc. that you have. it gives "happy wheels" vibes for some reason and i love it! but I hope you do good and make a lot of money dude. I'll be sure to keep a eye for the game!

My two favorite games that are similar to your physics engine are Worms and Lemmings. Something along those lines would be fun.

This made me think. Might be something here.

The most fun game play for me would be logical riddles. E.g. escape the prison cave: Push plenty rocks onto the wooden floor until it breaks, grab a piece of wood. Shoot the wall next to the water well with laser, until it breaks, and water floods in. Balance on your wooden piece to float up with the water, and reach the top of the water well. Level complete! Then you can build the whole story by combining mini riddles. And you can add fun ways to fail: shoot laser at wooden floor-> fire breaks out and you die.

you have the opportunity to return the lost Sand Game with the little zombie stick guys. many have tried to become the successor, all have failed.

People here in comments linked that game, and I liked it. Having lemming-alike creatures, that walk forward and fight, but in worms-alikee comically brutal aesthetics - this could be fun.

Have you investigated using @s8box instead of unity? If it’s not too painful to port, it might be worth it as you could release these small demos without needing to publish a full steam game and even get some money coming in.

Squishy platformer where everything is like a soft play area. Cushion-like platforms that give you jump boost. Main character weapon is something silly like a pin that you use to clear blockages or use them to your advantage (like a balloon backpack used for dash)

A spiritual successor to the Worms series? A twitch streamer bait style game like Goat simulator and such?

You know how there was that "crime scene clean up" game a couple years back? The inverse. You're trying to MAKE the biggest, goriest mess you can with some kind of "chum gun" that fires that goop. Objectives for specific stuff that has to get gooped, but only so much goop supply.

I've got three ideas:)) Ant Hill Siege: Dig/fortify ant colonies vs floods and rivals. Avalanche soil on foes, spit acid floods, pheromone swarms! Granular chaos and base defense.

You could do something like “Where’s my Water” but much more advanced.

If you can mix/blend animations along with physics-based deformations, you've got something really special ... I mean, your stuff keeps coming across my timeline so there's a lot really special you've already got. But imagine this mechanic, but you see patrick sort of "exhale" before going all skinny. That'd be so cool

is the game going to be entirely silent, or will there be some sort of sound system implemented

Using the deflate > inflate concept there, you could use it to launch a ball at a target. Regarding new ideas, I'll try to think of some

Kinda random, but I always loved the concept of this game where you flung your fighters around in an RPG sort of setting. If you gave enemies and the player cool pixel physics abilities like water mages shooting water, and frost mages that could freeze that water you could have a really neat game going on:

Zolden profil fotoğrafı

@DeveloperPerso3 Oh yea, that is definitely an interesting concept.

-Castle siege wars. -Alien landscape sidescroller bullet hell where you are a space marine killing weird aliens that explode. -A climbing game like Getting Over It, but you have different tools to climb on different terrain, a mixture of mountain climbing and platforming.

These are solid ideas, thanks. Two of them I had in my list, and the climbing one is added.
