Making a Wooden Soccer Ball #woodworking

I made a soccer ball from wood. Its structure was surprisingly simple: 12 pentagons and 20 hexagons, all with the same side length. I used relatively soft wood because I planned to round the entire shape by sanding. Even so, the sanding took much longer than expected. I didn’t sand it into a perfect sphere, but I like how the slight traces of the original panels give it a distinctive soccer-ball appearance. I used CA glue for faster assembly. For greater long-term strength, wood glue may be a better choice, although clamping this shape would be more difficult. Dimensions: Pentagons: 12 Hexagons: 20 Side length: 50 mm Thickness: 20 mm Pentagon bevel: 16.5° Hexagon bevel: 21° Finished diameter: approx. 220 mm

Let’s start with “Why”?

It's NO "soccer"... FOOTBALL!!! understood?

Make one for me please. How much?
