The thread angle was approximately 2°. Surprisingly, no guide pin was needed. Chamfering it as shown in the video gives it a more authentic bolt-and-nut appearance. Wooden Bolt & Nut (M33) Wood: African Mahogany

You freehanded the threads?

Looks like a fun build! That 2° cut on the chop-saw looks scary. Suggested approach to making it safe, or nothing to fear? (because shallow cut)

Okay now make a whole wooden bridge like that and bolt it together with them wooden bolts. 🔩

Why not just tap the nut?

nice

These could be cool parts for a deconstructable staff

Creative 😍

Neat but …. It’s only a strong of those little thread keepers.. fun use of 3000 bucks of tools:.. Hey grok what’s the compiled cost of each of the tools used in each step. Including the hidden other cuts they made.

reminds me of a video of an afgan man without legs replicating guns with nothing but an anvil, a hammer and a file. He hammered out a rod, the file turned a threaded bolt that looked machined. cant imagine how he threaded the hole but it might be something like the video here

I made a few of these for a wooden workbench I built. Used a jig and router though lol
