Happy Birthday Wasim Akram He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers in cricket history. Over a career spanning nearly two decades, his trademark left-arm swing earned him 916 international wickets for Pakistan national cricket team. He famously produced two unplayable deliveries in the 1992 World Cup final against England, helping Pakistan secure their maiden title. A dangerous lower-order batter as well, Akram scored a Test double-century against Zimbabwe. His remarkable career was only slightly overshadowed by allegations linked to the match-fixing controversies of the late 1990s.

81 Tests. 376 Wickets. 20.94 Average. Sir Malcolm Marshall was the ultimate nightmare for batsmen with his skiddy deliveries and ability to swing the ball. He once hit a bouncer so fierce it knocked the bat out of Gavaskar’s hands. The next day the headlines read: ‘Marshall Law in Kanpur.’ 🫡 #CricketHeritage #WeymarOnCricket

Greatest Upset of All Time. #OnThisDay (29th Feb) in 1996, Kenya playing in their first World Cup, bowled out West Indies for just 93 runs in Pune. Kenya pulled off one of the biggest upsets in cricket history, beating the West Indies with a stunning bowling display. After being bowled out for just 166, captain Maurice Odumbe feared the worst. But his bowlers responded brilliantly, dismissing West Indies for only 93 - their lowest total in World Cup history at the time. The collapse began with early wickets from Rajab Ali and Suji, while Brian Lara’s dismissal triggered further panic. Only Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Harper reached double figures, both falling to Odumbe, who took 3 for 15. Rajab Ali sealed the win with the final wicket, sparking jubilant celebrations from the Kenyans and leaving West Indies’ quarter-final hopes in doubt.

Happy Birthday Patrick Patterson Graham Gooch was unfazed by pace, but he recalls that the only time he feared for his safety was against Patterson at Sabina Park in 1986. In his debut series, he took 19 wickets, strengthening the West Indies attack alongside Marshall, Holding, Garner and Walsh. He finished with 93 Test wickets at 30.90, with his last five-wicket haul coming at Edgbaston in 1991.

One of the greatest opening bowling pairs ever. In 1982, South Africa were 122/2, chasing 201. Then Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh went berserk - 8 wickets for 26 runs to seal a famous West Indies win. And the wildest part? Brian Lara partied with the South African team until 5 AM before the chase. 😁

Man of the match for Captaincy ? 🫨 👉The MOTM for "Thinking": Mark Taylor vs West Indies (1992) ⏩Mark Taylor won a famous Man of the Match award against the West Indies in December 1992 specifically for his captaincy and fielding. 📍The Match: A rain-hit ODI at the SCG where Australia defended a tiny total of 101. 📍The Performance: Taylor scored only 9 runs, but his tactical brilliance and 4 catches at slip led Australia to bowl out the Windies for 87. 📍The Rarity: It remains one of the most cited instances in cricket history where the award was given for leadership rather than statistical batting or bowling figures.
