Man, it's not cheap stuff... And it's going to get even more expensive in the other places. Baldur's Gate (1998, Windows)

Man, this reminds me again of just how beautiful the UI in BG is

Aye!

I like how 1998 Baldur's Gate had supply and demand and inflation baked into the game mechanics. "What do you mean selling a short sword only nets 2gp now? Like, I've only dumped a hundred or so on you last week?"

I love that crunchy UI, you can almost feel it

I'm playing BG II right now 😀

It is prohibitively expensive, likely mind-bogglingly so, when you first reach Beregost. But it is late/end-game gear, available from the rip. At least you have something to look forward to & scrounge up for.

Gotta lock in and lootmaxx

TH/MU: Got the armor with the boots. Got the Robe of the Archmagi, et al. Discovered that "wanting" is more poignant than "having".

I remember 1999 when a guy from the internet post a blog with the daily exploration in the early game. With descriptions and screenshots. That was awesome! I remember feeling: this is the game of my life!

💜💜

Make my day with a memory of good times

I remember that shadow armor! OG

Now I want another play through. I'd buy this game again at today's prices for an improved UI with everything else left untouched

I love the old stone UI

Best part about the older games... The descriptions where better and actually gave depth to each item. Even the basic leather or cloth armor.

It's cheap when you lift it. If you aren't stealing in Baldur's Gate, what the hell are you even doing?

😎
