Man… this one hits different. Hayden Panettiere just passed at 36. Found unresponsive yesterday in South Carolina. No foul play. Just gone. Another young life cut short after years of fighting battles most people never have to see up close. She was Claire Bennet, the cheerleader who couldn’t die...

I dated a girl once and she was extremely beautiful. She worked for DNA models. She ate a terrible diet that horrified me. She thought she had to. By far the strangest thing about her was that she would listen to the same song for over 4 hours in a row, every day She'd come home exhausted, climb into bed and put on her huge expensive headphones and start playing her song. It was this song. It was no secret, I could always hear it through the headphones. In her music app she only had this song and she put it on a permanent loop. Some days she'd listen to it for 4 hours. Other days for more. Occasionally at the weekends if she really needed to recover in bed, she'd listen for 8 hours or more When I was around her, I'd listen too. Not because I wanted to, but you could always hear it a little from her headphones, in the background. At a certain point, it started to feel normal. At the start, I asked her why she did it and she said "I just love this song, why would I listen to anything else". I really liked her answer. So I didn't challenge it. She said she'd been doing it for years Sometimes I'd pick her up from shoots in the city and the moment she met me she'd ask if she could please put her headphones on and listen to music. Then she'd start. She wouldn't do it in public without me there, because she wanted to stay aware of her surroundings. But if I was there, she could put her headphones on straight away and just trust she was safe. She'd listen to her song and rest on my shoulder and close her eyes as we rode the subway home Throughout our relationship we didn't talk much, really. It was more of a physical thing. Not in a superficial way. Not just lust. I mean that we were both completely satisfied just resting on each other, without speaking. We liked physical contact, or a sense of shared physical beingness. But neither of us needed to talk like most people do and we really savored that about each other I actually really loved it when she put her headphones on and entered her cosy, safe space. It was like she was entering into a little coccoon. With time, I realized it was a kind of recovery protocol and a meditative trance. It anchored a state of rest for her that she desperately needed. She didn't have OCD or any other compulsions. It was just this one thing. This one particular song. It was like a little cave she entered to heal from the stress of the day and burdens of existence. I dated her for 2 years and she did it every single day, up until the end. When I kissed her goodbye on the final day, she had her big headphones hanging around her neck and the song was playing through them. It was the last thing I heard, on the last day I looked into her eyes

Hayden Panettiere’s final chapter was far more complicated than the headlines suggest. 💔 1️⃣ She gave Wladimir Klitschko full custody of their daughter Kaya in 2018. Hayden was struggling with postpartum depression, alcoholism and opioid addiction and said she knew she wasn’t in a position to give Kaya the stability she needed. She described signing the papers as one of the most heartbreaking experiences of her life—not abandoning her daughter, but believing Kaya would be safer and healthier with her father while Hayden worked on recovery. 2️⃣ She chose recovery over pretending everything was okay. Hayden entered rehab and repeatedly confronted her addiction and mental-health struggles publicly. She later said the custody decision gave her the opportunity to work on herself, and even after getting healthier, she respected the stability Kaya had with Wladimir rather than uprooting her life. Hayden continued traveling to see Kaya and maintaining a close relationship through visits and FaceTime. 3️⃣ She finally chose to live openly as herself. In 2026, while discussing her memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning, Hayden publicly identified as bisexual. She explained that she had kept that part of herself private for years because she was afraid of how people would perceive it, but writing her story made her ask, essentially, why not be honest now? Perhaps the most heartbreaking part is that Hayden never stopped loving her daughter. Shortly before her death, she said Kaya knew that she had two parents who loved her and would do anything to make sure she was happy and healthy. Hayden’s story wasn’t simply about “giving up” her child—it was about a mother trying to survive, recover and make the choice she believed was best for her daughter. 🕊️

Back at the pizza shop for whatever reason we always only had teenagers apply so most of my workers were all high school kids. There was this one 16 year old girl who was working there who is as entitled as can be. Anytime she made a mistake and it was brought to her attention, she would call her dad and her dad would come up to the shop to defend her. On this day we were short a driver so I was helping out delivering pizzas while I had the employees tend to the store. The 16 year old girl was trying to joke around and be funny, she through a dough ball at someone and it got stuck in their hair. Almost like gum it was a pain to remove. So that person in turn through a tomato at her and it splattered all over her clothes. She immediately got red in the face and started to cry. She had already clocked out and left when I got back from a delivery. About 5 minutes later her dad shows up and berates me for letting that happen to his daughter. I check the cameras and saw what happened and I even showed it to him but he still feels it was wrong for a tomato to be thrown at her so told him she started it and the other girl with the dough in her hair had to get some of it cut off. I acknowledged that both parties were equally wrong for participating in it but I wasn’t going to fire the girl who threw the tomato as she was responding to doing being thrown in her hair. He wasn’t exactly reasonable in response to my actions so I ended up banning him from the store.

Why is it that I’m never there when all the fun things happen at the airport. Most of the time I only see entitled passengers or screaming kids. I would be hilariously entertained if I saw a woman ducking and dodging security while wearing running shoes like she’s was in the NFL. This woman was having an argument with the airline, she felt they were being unreasonable, that was the only explanation she gave. So she jumped behind the counter and said what she needed to say only to be met by security and she gave them a run for their money. Imagine being the guard who took a dive trying to catch her, I bet all his coworkers never let that down. Closest thing I ever seen to this was a teenager who “accidentally” picked up the wrong bag on the floor got up and left. The woman who owned it noticed moments later and saw the girl casually walking with the bag. She took off after her, when she finally caught up to her they left all common sense at the door because the woman started screaming at her and calling her a thief while trying to get the attention of security. The teen kept saying it was her bag. It wasn’t until security got there that they realized she did grab the wrong bag and that hers was kicked under the seat. The odd thing is, her bag looked nothing liked the one she took so it was hard to say if it was intentional because she did after all left her own bag with her stuff in it too. What about you, have you ever seen anything happen at the airport? I must take the boring airlines, I always miss out on the fun incidents.
