Drunk drivers are scum, but this is an indefensible civil liberties overreach. You’re treating all drivers as criminals due to the actions of a few bad people. What happened to the presumption of innocence? What about the right to privacy? What about the right to be free from unreasonable searches? I know that you guys have a hard job, and you’re trying to protect us, but you have to keep in mind that you’re also our public servants. Hopefully you rethink this. It will create animosity towards you where none needs to exist.

What's next? Since you have us pulled over, maybe you should search our vehicles just in case. Then follow us home to search our house.

Thank you! ❤️ Only a police state which violates fundamental human rights against unreasonable search and seizure can keep us safe. We are so proud of people like you who help the Government violate human rights to control the population! Für Ihre Sicherheit!

I don’t drink so I’m not worried about being charged. I am worried that the screws keep tightening, and tightening, and tightening.

Can you begin screening all your officers on a daily basis, as well?

It’s Interesting that the RCMP just announced they’ll be doing the exact same thing in western Canada. It sounds like this directive coming from the federal government.

This is unacceptable in a free society. You have no right to do this to anyone. Knock it off and do your real job.

This is excessive. Ontario is turning into a police state.

This is crossing the line. I absolutely despise impaired drivers, but allowing police to do things without reasonable suspicion is setting a very dangerous precedence. You'll notice when they infringe on our rights or privileges it's almost always under the guise / excuse of public safety as they know that people who are biased, emotional and or are lacking proper foresight will be okay with it. Notice how I don't let me disdain for impaired drivers get in the way of exercising foresight and realizing the dangerous precedence that this is likely to lead to? It's really just propaganda and way for them to have more control over our lives without the red tape. Don't say I didn't tell you so when they expand their powers under this same principle.
