The math here is simple. How many DUI accidents are because an officer pulled the person over, didn't realize they were drunk and let them carry on to cause an accident? Unless this number is extremely high, there is no reason to check everyone you pull over.

Will all officers receive mandatory alcohol screening before they go on duty as well? Will they also receive the same when they are off duty? We know the answer to this is NO! This is presumption of guilt until proven innocent and is a violation of our rights.

During yesterday’s heavy traffic congestion along the N1 Highway, a group of motor riders stepped in to call out the indiscipline of several drivers who had turned around and begun driving against the flow of oncoming traffic. The group called on the Ghana Highway Authority and other relevant agencies to take immediate action against the drivers over their disregard for road safety laws and regulations.
