The problem with doing a live action of a manga/anime that has such expressive wacky character designs is unless you use alot of effects its not gonna look anywhere the same, so the acting has to carry alot more

Live action never feels made with earnest. There are people who will unironically tell you that the live-action is more ''acceptable'' because it's featuring real human actors instead of silly scribblings, despite trying to portray the same scene.
