Ghost in The Shell anime vs live action

and this, guys, is the reason why masterpieces don’t need live-action remakes.

Notice how in the anime they gave the character a red outfit that stood out and showed the action clearly? And in the remake they gave him a sludge-colored outfit that blended in with the background?

There is no live action Ghost in The Shell.

Live action will never come even close to the magic captured by the anime in this scene

In my opinion one of the best anime live-action adaptations ever produced. You can really tell how much care they put into the production to please the fans. But anime fans will complain about anything. They honestly deserve live-action gems like Dragon Ball Evolution.

The anime is far superior than the tacky adaptation

One of the best examples of why putting something in live action doesn't automatically make it better. Just look at how colorful and impactful the original is since the characters aren't restricted by human choreography, and how crisp every detail is.

The live action is absolute 🐕💩 and shouldn't exist

There are many things that can't be replicated or captured in live-action. Ghost in the Shell and The Lion King are both prime examples of why some things should stay animated.

I avoided the live action. Was it actually watchable? Was the backlash just bc of the actress?

Why do movie directors always have to remove color? It’s most abhorrent in middle age era movies where everything is brown or grey

Man, the live action film was terrible.

They flat out ripped off the anime and also somehow made a worse movie.

I have heard the live action movie was underrated. Given bad reviews beyond true production. Not sure. Obviously, I never saw the newer movie.

This live action was just bad

The movie is really good when you don't have some annoying person screaming in your ear about it

The movie was Cool but the source material cannot be adapted that easy

It had some pacing issues in the beginning and I wish they would've introduced Section 9 a little more but overall it was a solid movie. B+ imo.

Anime original more captivating.

If they had shown this in the trailer, I might not have missed the movie.

This was one of those instances where I would have been fine if they just copied the movie.

the live action looks like ass. What were they thinking????? It looks so muddy and brown. If you squint the guy just blends to the background. Terrible garbage. Yikes.
