We can't even get Blom to enjoy football? ■ A match unfit Blom is still better than what we partner Cele with constantly there. ■ This boy doesn't want to play RB. Nate Bittle is joining the Toronto Raptors on an Exhibit-10 deal. This is a long-term bet on development but I'd like to make a case for why Nate has a better shot to make it than most 7 footers who went undrafted. 1. He's smart. This doesn't just mean he's a mature, level-headed 23 year-old with good habits and work ethic, but he's also quite intelligent on the court. He processes feedback well, makes timely reads, and picks his spots pretty well. Apart from a few unforced turnovers and some foul trouble earlier in his college career, I'm not worried about his basketball brain. 2. He can shoot. And I mean shoot shoot. Not big man shoot. He has excellent touch indicators, and the shot should go in more than it actually does. Repeatable, high and quick release. Pulls with an abundance of sureness and confidence. 3. Improvement arc. His role expanded with the Ducks through the years and he just found a way to get better. There's no quantum leaps here, nor will 1 be coming. But he absolutely knows who he is as a player. 4. He can really pass. Not exceptionally. But he at least projects to be as good a passer as Jakob Poeltl, which is a huge win. 5. True 7-footer with a 7'6 wingspan. Gets long and big around the basket. Huge standing reach and plays with it. 6. Got stronger. Way too many people assume Nate is 7'1 215. Spoke to someone close to the source close to the situation who said he was closer to 7'1 245 and got up to 255 by the G League combine. That's BIG. 7. He's a drop big. Yes. But he's good at it. And I think his lateral quickness is better than people think it is. 8. Wingspan. He measured out with the largest wingspan in this draft at 7'6, tied with 12th overall pick Aday Mara. However, his Height (7'0) to Wingspan (7'6) differential of 6 inches is the biggest of any player in this draft north of 6'11. 9. He's got a nasty streak. He protects the rim, he goes up strong. Did he at times get bumped off his spot? Yes. But he competes man. 10. His athleticism concerns are over-emphasized. A 26 inch vertical matters way less when you're this big. By no means is this a big vertical lob threat who jumps out of the gym, but he rolls well, rolls hard, finishes well and has excellent touch on a handful of replicable post moves. For the Raptors, if ever he develops, he's as good if not a better bet than Brendan Carlsen. Same size, but a couple of years younger and a much more productive bet against better competition. Not to mention, he's a better defender passer and rebounder than Carlsen. I think he'll eventually work somewhere. Not spectacular. But 7'1 depth bigs who have this much game are a rare find.

For the season Minnesale had a standout year where he averaged 20/5/4 along with 2 steals a game while shooting 51% from the field. Standing at 6’6 with a 7 foot inch plus wingspan, along with good athleticism, Minnesale has the tools and frame you want from a modern NBA Wing along with the skill. His mix of finishing, passing, feel, off ball instincts, spot up shooting, defensive versatility, athleticism, and rebounding for his age and size is extremely rare and valuable. Minnesale was one of the best big creators in college basketball this season where he finished in the 88th percentile for PNR play and 92th percentile for Isolation scoring. Minnesale has the size and instincts to effectively to be an efficient creator and he was one of the best creators at the rim in the country this season who has the ability to find his teammates at a high level, he was also a huge threat in transition and has the ability to effect the game off ball at a high level. Minnesale shot 38% from three on spot up three’s while also being a talented cutter and connective passer. He was also an extremely versatile defender who can read passing lanes, get to the right spots off ball, and is a strong rim protector for his size. Since 2008 he’s one of 7 underclassmen who had 100 makes at the rim, 40 made threes, an AST% of 25, and have 10 dunks, joining elite company with 5 top 8 picks, Tyler Tanner, and Cameron Boozer.

After 10 years of traveling the country with my son Grant Scholzen as my travel partner as an MLB scout and in my baseball capacity now, I was let go 3.5 years ago by the Milwaukee Brewers for CoVid reasons and it has become a blessing in disguise! It freed me up to watch every HS game he played and almost 90% of his summer/fall action from coast to coast, along with national invite showcase teams and events, where he garnered recruiting attention. Now the day came to watch him make his D1 debut this past week. He was able to play 3 innings defensively and as is custom, the ball found him at 2B in all 3 innings. Made all the plays flawlessly, with a “slow” heartbeat and did his thing! The AB’s will come… He’s a great teammate and has his fellow players respect for who he is as a ballplayer and more importantly as a person! His step mother Cami, for the past 8 years also hauled him around when he was young, while Dad was making other players dreams come true and she was able to see the dream realized as well. No matter what the future holds, his passion and endless work ethic made his dream come true! He will continue to grind, work and prove people wrong! His late mother Heidi, who passed away when he was 9 years old, would have been so proud and I know she’s been by his side in spirit and will continue to be by his side, wherever the dream takes him. Only 2% make it to where he’s at, and although I help other young men, in the end he’s my 🔝 priority and the most important player in my portfolio! I love you Grant ❤️
