On my way back from the National Defence College, I made several stops to greet the people of Jinja, Nkonko Njeru, Mukono Town, and Kalerwe Market. It was good to connect with our people, and I promised to return and share the message of socio-economic transformation with them. I asked them to send better representatives to Parliament because the ones they send do not help them much and they do not wear clothes with the right colour.

You give them phrases, adjectives, or questions, and when you analyze the patterns in their answers, the same five broad dimensions appear. “One in 25 people is a sociopath or psychopath.” Evy Poumpouras dropped this stat on Lewis Howes’ podcast and it stopped me cold. She explained that true narcissism, sociopathy, and psychopathy have very specific clinical criteria (lack of empathy, lack of remorse, etc.) — not just “someone disagreed with me.” Slapping those labels on everyone is actually pretty narcissistic itself. The real red flag? People who meet the full criteria for antisocial personality disorders (what we used to call sociopaths/psychopaths) are far more common than most realize. According to the research she cited, about 1 in 25 people show these tendencies. It’s a sobering reminder to pay attention to patterns of behavior rather than throwing clinical terms around casually. How do you spot the difference between someone who’s just difficult versus someone who actually lacks empathy or remorse?
