MURDER: Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the death of a woman in Leeds as man arrested fights for life Officers were called at 10.25am this morning to a report concerning the welfare of a woman at an address on Foster Square. A woman aged 51 was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A 52-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are carrying out extensive enquiries. Whilst we are in the early stages of the investigation, officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death. The woman’s family is being supported by specially trained officers.

A 14-year-old boy has drowned after going into the water at a dock in east London. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) and the Metropolitan Police searched the Millwall Outer Dock near East Ferry Road after being alerted at about 18:50 BST on Monday. His body was recovered at about 22:30 and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed, police said.

Two men have been charged with murder over the death of former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins at HMP Wakefield - who was serving a 29-year sentence for child sex offences. Emergency services were sent to the prison in West Yorkshire but Watkins was pronounced dead at the scene after an alleged attack on Saturday morning. The men are due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court later on Monday.

It follows the discovery of a package within the Kirkstall Recycling centre on Kirkstall Road this evening. The Royal Logistics Crop (bomb squad) were called at around 5pm to the scene after the discovery. Yorkshire Ambulance dispatched their incident response to the scene along with specialist ambulance officers. West Yorkshire Fire and rescue sent an appliance from Leeds and a specialist fire officer to coordinate the response between all services. 🛑: On Monday around 5:00 pm at Esereso Adagya in the Ashanti Region, a man jumped into a river under a bridge. People searched for him to try and rescue him but couldn't find his body in the water. A ceremony with libation was performed, asking the river to return the body the next day. However, since Tuesday is a sacred day for the river, nothing happened until Wednesday, when the river brought the body to the surface. Before the ceremony, it was said that if the river itself had taken his life, the body would not return. But if he had jumped in himself or someone else was responsible, the river would release the body.
