Heavy-handed regulations on community banks directly diminish small businesses’ access to capital. During my time on the Financial Services Committee, minimizing overregulation has always been my top priority. It is crucial that our country’s prudential regulators tailor their rules to the size, scope, and function of our financial institutions.
