.Marc Andreessen 🇺🇸 on why crypto's regulatory environment failed innovators: "There's a specific degenerate form of government called anarcho-tyranny... The anarcho part is you let the rule breakers go absolutely nuts. The tyranny part is you regulate or prosecute the good actors to death." "Startups outside the US went... show more

@pmarca worth asking which startups he means, because plenty stayed inside the lines and still got a full audit treatment for it

@pmarca Anarcho-tyranny nails it. Regulators go after the ones who ask permission, ignore the ones who don't.

@pmarca Nailed the logic

@pmarca The real failure was regulatory asymmetry: too much uncertainty for compliant builders and too little effective enforcement against bad actors. Good regulation should reduce the advantage of rule-breakers without making innovation impossible for responsible companies.

Back out east of the wall, we call anarcho-tyranny good ol’ fashioned oligarchy. Imagine having your shipping containers smuggled through & the response being you get put in jail, and the government is in the rest of the world is a cryptographic shipping container context layer with an agentic environment and impex skills library pre-loaded that I built to evidence my family business innocence internationally, saving it from said anarcho-tyranny by laying out the cold, hard truth in front of the narrative-benders and fake media. @pmarca you’d find it interesting

@pmarca I build payments infrastructure in MENA. While US Congress debates CLARITY, Japan's top 3 banks are issuing stablecoins by March 2027. UAE VARA licenses are already live. Talent follows deployable rails.

@pmarca Clear rules encourage innovation. Uncertainty punishes honest builders first, mate.

@pmarca Crypto adoption is accelerating—exciting times ahead! 🚀

@pmarca 乱成这样谁还敢来建东西啊
