Approach road to this bridge on Tons River, Dehradun, caved in today. Worth ₹16 crore, it was inaugurated two weeks ago. This is an important bridge, as it is one of the major entry points into Dehradun for traffic from Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal. What's worse is that people waited 10 months for this because it had collapsed last year too, and since then, people had been using a temporary bridge built with Hume pipes. It was constructed by the marvellous engineers of the PWD.

Finally visited Babylon, Financial District, on my third attempt. It was full the first two times. The place is huge and designed really well. Kudos to the owners for building such a landmark place. I hope they start the brewery soon once they get the license. Coming back to the food, I tried the Tandoori Platter and the Telangana Mutton Curry with Bagara Rice. Both were very decent. That said, the traffic and valet management are really bad. This place has blocked the entire road, and I had to wait 25 minutes for the valet. This wasn't a one-time issue. My wife had a similar experience earlier and had to wait more than 30 minutes. The biggest problem is that there doesn't seem to be a proper parking or traffic plan to begin with. It feels like everything was arranged after opening instead of being planned from the beginning for such a large restaurant.

Instead of digitally recreating a corn field, Nolan spent $100,000 to plant one and sold it for a profit afterwards. Why practical effects? Nolan digitally enhances his shots but prefers working on location and with cameras. “It’s more fun for me and the actors,” he said of his approach during an interview with the BBC. “There’s nothing more dispiriting than showing up to a green screen. The magic is not there.” For the “Interstellar” cornfield, the most difficult part was finding a location to plant 500 acres of the crop. The script called for farm land near a mountain (not a ton of those around). Nolan tapped Zack Snyder for advice because the director had filmed a cornfield in “Superman”. The final location: a plot of land outside of Calgary, Alberta. The intention was never to grow the corn for sale, just to get some awesome shots. But Nolan later said “we got a pretty good crop and made some money on it.”

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FROWNS AT CONTRACTOR HANDLING BENIN - ASABA ROAD OVER INCOMPETENCE The Federal Government says it is considering terminating the concession agreement for the Benin–Asaba road project over alleged incompetence and slow pace of work. The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, gave the indication during an inspection visit to the project site in Benin City. The Minister’s visit to the Benin–Agbor road bypass was on the directive of President Bola Tinubu. It followed a recent protest by Edo youths over what they described as the poor handling of the project, which they say has caused untold hardship to road users. Accompanying the Minister were the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and some members of the National Assembly. During the inspection, Senator Umahi expressed dissatisfaction with the level and quality of work done by the concessionaire. He said the Federal Government may have no option but to revoke the contract and re-award it to a more competent company if there is no immediate improvement.

Few things sum up Biden’s foreign policy better than him saying that he has no concerns about Hamas regrouping, juxtaposed with the footage on the right from just a few days later of Hamas grouped. It makes you think of the famous Bob Gates quote that Biden has been on the wrong side of many foreign policy issues in the past four decades. He voted against Desert Storm but voted for the Iraq war. He was against the Bin Laden operation. He said he was going to make MBS a pariah and then showed up in his court with a fist bump.

Although he is my political opponent, it is still a sad sight to see the prime minister struggling with his own demons — a broken man. The man who, for three and a half decades, has taken on the role of representing the future of a nation was yesterday ranting nonsense at a Fidesz campaign event. He attacked those who disagree with him — people who, incidentally, represent the majority. Orbán Viktor has lost control. Nobody wants a pro-Ukrainian government. What we all want is a functioning country: a country where the state protects its citizens, safeguards children, and brings criminals to justice. This is what the whole country wants. And to those who can no longer — or no longer wish to — provide this, we say: step aside with dignity.

HISTORYSHEETER ROWDY ARRESTED; FAMILY ATTACKED POLICEMEN A 26-year-old history-sheeter was arrested during a ganja raid in Pulianthope after police seized narcotic substances from his residence. Police also registered a separate case against his relatives for attacking officers during the operation. A video of the altercation later circulated on social media. Acting on a tip-off about the sale of ganj in the Pulianthope, a team from the Basin Bridge Police Station, led by Sub-Inspector Krishnakumar and other personnel, conducted a raid on a house in Gandhi Nagar Fifth Street on Sunday night. The house belonged to Nandakumar, 26, who is listed as a history-sheeter by the police. During the search, officers seized 29 packets of ganja weighing a total of 10 grams and six syringes from the premises. Police said women present in the house initially objected to the search and attempted to prevent officers from carrying out the raid. After Nandakumar was arrested and police attempted to take him into custody, his mother and other female relatives assaulted the officers. According to police, the officers used force to protect themselves and bring the situation under control. A video showing the confrontation between police personnel and the family members subsequently went viral on social media platforms. Nandakumar was taken to the Basin Bridge Police Station, where a case was registered against him under relevant provisions relating to possession of narcotic substances. He was inquired further. In a related development, Nandakumar’s mother, Meena, went to the police station and demanded her son’s release. Police said she injured her wrist with a razor blade during the protest and argued with officers inside the station premises. She was later sent away after intervention by police personnel. The Basin Bridge police registered a separate case against Nandakumar’s relatives for obstructing and assaulting police personnel during the raid.

Nandakumar was taken to the Basin Bridge Police Station, where a case was registered against him under relevant provisions relating to possession of narcotic substances. He was inquired further. In a related development, Nandakumar’s mother, Meena, went to the police station and demanded her son’s release. Police said she injured her wrist with a razor blade during the protest and argued with officers inside the station premises. She was later sent away after intervention by police personnel. The Basin Bridge police registered a separate case against Nandakumar’s relatives for obstructing and assaulting police personnel during the raid.

Obama’s personal records are all hidden. No other president in the history of U.S. Presidents has had their background blocked out by the CIA. It has been said that everything we witnessed during his presidency was fake. Since Obama is still acting as a lead for the Democratic Party and very vocal on all aspects of American government, I think it’s time to see an actual birth certificate for starters.
