After President Trump canceled Wednesday’s ceremonial signing of a bipartisan affordable housing bill passed by Congress and demanded lawmakers pass a voting regulations bill known as the SAVE America Act, he met with Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and other Republican senators at the Capitol instead. When asked by Margaret Brennan where the president’s priorities lie, Cassidy said he can’t read the president’s mind, but said he’s “asking the president regularly, let's work on affordability of healthcare.” “I can't tell you what his priorities are beyond the SAVE Act.
