BREAKING: DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin just threatened federal investigations into voters and state election officials with “fines, by penalties, and even prison time” if states don’t participate in the OPTIONAL federal SAVE program. This clearly clashes with the U.S. Constitution. Article I, Section 4 gives states primary authority over the “Times, Places and Manner” of congressional elections. Congress can pass laws to set or override rules, but threatening criminal penalties on state officials for not using a voluntary federal tool exceeds that authority and undermines federalism. States run elections, not the President!

Democrats especially AOC and Jasmine Crockett should listen to what Texas Congresswoman Barbara Jordan said about immigration: “Is not a right guaranteed by the US Constitution to everyone anywhere in the world who thinks they want to come to the United States. Immigration is a privilege. It is a privilege granted by the people of the United States to those we choose to admit. Many American workers do not have adequate job prospects. We should make their task easier to find employment, not harder.”

This will be a significant event that will build on our Defense Industries Forum in September. The forum in Washington, D.C., as well as our work on defense production in Ukraine and the United States, will further its success. I am grateful to the United States, President Biden and his team, the US Congress and both parties that support Ukraine. My special gratitude goes to American defense companies and partners in Europe—all those who defend freedom in practice.
