This is the same story from the 70s when computers took the mainstream hold with some big differences and real impact. Now these message is still incomplete because they are not speaking about a bigger impact - the cost and consequences of establishing the infrastructure that powers AI. - now that is actually even bigger than replacing thousands of jobs- because the Data center consumption of resources will have real effects on the environment that these organizations are not presenting to the public. The cost to run them is huge but the cost to the environment can catastrophic- the worst part is they will try NOT to pay for it - but pass it to you- and I am saying this simply because I still have to hear on how they are going to mitigate the effects on the environment due to extremely high consumption of utilities and the waste it will create. Be careful not to be lied by the government as they will of course continue to protect the wealth creation and benefit. Perhaps is time for you to learn how toxic waste is disposed and where.

AI uses 0.1% of water usage in the US. Data centers are some of the cleanest industry you could possibly have. Tell me, how are they ruining the planet when compared to other industry? Do you just not want us to have GDP? Be smarter less emotional.

That is not moving from a faster car to a faster plane. That is moving from a candle to the sun. Now combine that with AI. AI today can already write, analyse, code, create, predict, and automate. AI combined with quantum becomes AI on godlike steroids. Science accelerates. Discovery accelerates. Intelligence accelerates. Simulation accelerates. Entire industries are rewritten. Don’t forget it is not just AI - but AI and robotics. And we are cheering on because we see funny videos it can make or how it produce lifelike images. We are just dumb to the future.
