Matt Hancock has told the Inquiry that discharging untested NHS patients into Care Homes saved lives. He says there was 'no alternative'. We know, looking at how other countries dealt with the pandemic, that there was an alternative. Lives could and should have been saved.

Matt Hancock and Boris Johnson promised to put “a protective ring” around care homes. They did nothing of the sort. Their policy of sending infected elderly patients in NHS care back to their care homes killed many of them plus many more in those care homes who also became ill.

Was it not Exercise Cygnus and report in 2016 that identified that we were unprepared for a COVID type pandemic? The Tory Government decided not to implement it's recommendations. We would have been more prepared had they done that.
