Mayor Mamdani “balanced” NYC’s $125B budget — by shortchanging pension payments. He stretched out the city’s massive unfunded pension liabilities another 5+ years to 2037. This “saves” ~$1.6B this year, but adds $7 billion more in total interest that future New Yorkers will pay after he’s gone. NYC will...

Mamdani’s Pied-à-Terre Tax Hits Full-Time New Yorkers — And He’s Fine With That Mayor Zohran Mamdani is requiring longtime New York City residents who live in the city full-time to prove it — simply to avoid a new surcharge on their homes. Notices have been sent telling some owners they “may” face five-figure tax bills unless they submit documentation confirming their property is a primary residence. When pressed on the errors, the mayor largely dismissed the concerns, stating that the Department of Finance had “identified homes that may be subject to the surcharge” and that owners have time to appeal. “As required by the law, the Department of Finance sent informational resources to homeowners to ensure that they understood the tax… and also if they did not believe it to apply to them, that they had the time in order to be able to appeal,” Mamdani said. (Video: AI) At the same time, illegal immigrants continue to receive free housing and services costing New York City well over $1 billion this year. Full-time residents who own and live in valuable properties are being treated as if they must justify their presence. Why would anyone who has built equity and a life here choose to remain in a city that subjects them to this burden while others receive a free pass? Legal residents of means will answer by voting with their feet and relocating to cities and states that are more financially welcoming. This trend is already underway, and places like Florida and Texas are capitalizing on it.

🇺🇸 🇮🇱 THIS IS INCREDIBLE: HAS MAMDANI FINALLY COMPLETELY LOST HIS MIND?! A New York socialist mayor just threatened to arrest a foreign leader on US soil! Think about that. Zohran Mamdani, New York City's brand new democratic socialist mayor, is "actively discussing" with city lawyers whether he can arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visits for the UN General Assembly in September. Not contemplating. Not thinking. Actively discussing. Let me be clear on what's happening here. The US does not recognize ICC warrants. Never signed the Rome Statute. The UN Headquarters Agreement explicitly grants diplomatic protections to visiting leaders. A New York City mayor has ZERO jurisdiction over international visitors to the UN. This isn't a legal gray area. It's not even close. But Mamdani doesn't care about law. He said Netanyahu "belongs in The Hague" and is a "war criminal." He's been saying this since his campaign. He's been doubling down since taking office. Even his own allies told the New York Times that arresting Netanyahu is "not a priority." Rep. Jerry Nadler, a Democrat from NY, had to explain to Mamdani that the city literally has no authority to do this. Senator Ted Budd introduced legislation to defund cities that attempt it. Here's what Trump did: He didn't mince words. "Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested, in any way, shape, or form, while in the United States of America." Direct. Decisive. Netanyahu responded that he's not concerned and will come with Trump. This isn't about politics anymore. A sitting US mayor is threatening to violate international law, undermine diplomatic protections, and arrest a world leader because he disagrees politically. That's not governance. That's radicalism. And Mamdani represents everything wrong with the DSA takeover of Democratic cities.
