Iran is hitting one to two tankers every day in November 2026. With roughly one thousand super tankers on the planet, this pace cannot hold. The real question is whether the world has already crossed a point of no return. THE DAILY TANKER ASSAULT ➡️ Iran is striking one to two civilian tankers a day right now. ➡️ Only about one thousand super tankers—the VLCCs that carry two million barrels each—exist worldwide. ➡️ Crews from India and the Philippines are dying in these attacks. These are ordinary civilians, not military targets. The drones are cheap. The ships are not. Repairs take three to four months. Keep the pace going and a large slice of the global fleet is sidelined. THE GULF LOGISTICS TRAP ➡️Saudi oil comes out of the Persian Gulf side. The East-West pipeline, built in the 1980s as a backup, can move seven million barrels a day. It used to run at two to three. Now it is pushed hard. ➡️Ship-to-ship transfers outside the Gulf of Oman have become the main workaround. Super tankers speed in, load, and hand the crude off. The Gulf still produces around twenty million barrels a day. Bypass routes help, but they do not erase the pressure. THE RATE EXPLOSION ➡️ Day rates for a super tanker jumped from fifty to one hundred thousand dollars to one point five million dollars per day. ➡️ Insurance is nearly impossible to obtain at normal terms. Operators raise fees to self-insure. Captains are paid around one hundred twenty thousand dollars for a single high-risk run. The physical market does not have months to wait for diplomatic theater. The hits need to stop now. THE COUNTDOWN ➡️Downey is direct. Resolve this within three to six months maximum. Conditions are already bad. The damage is moving into food and fertilizers. ➡️Another stretch of daily tanker losses makes recovery far harder.
