That's way too costly for something just playing gameboy and gameboy color games. There's more affordable options out there for playing old games like these.

So besides the magnesium shell and the slightly larger screen, what is the point in creating something like this when the much better Analogue pocket exists? Genuinely curious.

this is a very tough sell against the Pocket at that price point, but good luck nonetheless
