Meeting with our servicemembers training on an Alkmaar-class mine countermeasure vessel in the Netherlands. Together with Rob Jetten Rob Jetten, we spoke with them about how the training is progressing and discussed our future plans. The Netherlands will fully train the crew and will transfer the vessel to Ukraine... as early as June. It will be named “Henichesk” in honor of our ship that was lost while carrying out a combat mission in June 2022 near the Kinburn Spit. This is already the fifth vessel in our future mine countermeasure fleet and the second provided specifically by the Netherlands. Thank you for this support. Це вже п’ятий корабель у нашому майбутньому протимінному флоті та другий саме від Нідерландів. Дякую за таку допомогу. Дуже цінуємо, що нідерландський народ так сильно нам у цьому допомагає. We value the Netherlands’ readiness to continue supporting Ukraine. I also want to highlight their participation in the PURL initiative. The Netherlands has consistently supported Ukraine’s energy sector. Since the beginning of the year, Dutch contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund have reached €133 million. I briefed the Prime Minister on the Regional Energy Resilience Plans aimed at strategically rebuilding our energy system and preparing for future heating seasons. We are also interested in engaging the Netherlands’ expertise in water management and attracting equipment from Dutch companies. We also discussed strengthening Europe’s energy independence and stability amid Russian aggression and developments in the Middle East. The Netherlands reaffirmed its support for Ukraine’s EU integration path. We are preparing for the Second Ukraine–Netherlands Intergovernmental Conference, which will take place in Breda at the end of March, as well as a business forum to develop new B2B partnerships. We continue our international meetings in the framework of the Munich Security Conference. I had a meeting with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof Rob Jetten. Our discussion focused on united diplomacy, the development of reliable security guarantees, the real situation on the battlefield, and defense needs. We also spoke about support for our citizens forced to leave Ukraine due to Russian aggression. I am grateful to the Netherlands for our joint efforts within the Ramstein format and for ensuring that aid to Ukraine does not decrease after three years of war. 🇺🇦 🇳🇱

A new important step in our defense cooperation with the Netherlands – today, our countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding concerning Coproduction of drones. This is one of the promising areas of our bilateral cooperation. I thank the Government, the Prime Minister, and all the people of the Netherlands for their support of Ukraine – since the start of the full-scale war, it has already reached nearly $9 billion. I am also grateful for their contribution within the PURL initiative – around $600 million. Support for this initiative sends signals and sets examples for other partners. During today’s meeting with the Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius, Ruben Brekelmans, we discussed the development of joint drone production, the implementation of the initiative, and collaboration with the Netherlands in this area. I am grateful for the meeting and for all the efforts made to support our people.

Today in Odesa, on the day of our Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we express our gratitude to all our naval warriors and engage in negotiations to ensure that Ukraine’s Defense Forces, including our Navy, receive even greater capabilities. We also welcomed the new Ministers of Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, as well as the new British Secretary of State for Defence. I informed them about the situation on the battlefield, and there was a briefing from Vice Admiral Neizhpapa, the Ukrainian Navy Commander. We will continue to strengthen the Ukrainian fleet together with the UK and the Netherlands. There are promising new developments in our cooperation. We also discussed strengthening our air defense systems, which remains an absolute priority, and I am grateful for the willingness to take the next steps, particularly regarding the F-16s.

Today, representatives of the new Government of the Netherlands, which began its work this week – the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Foreign Affairs – are in Ukraine. This visit is a strong signal of support for our people. It is very important to us. Thanks to our cooperation with all Dutch governments throughout this war, relations between our countries have already reached the level of a strategic partnership and trust. The main focus of the talks was strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, continuing the implementation of the PURL initiative, advancing diplomacy to achieve a just and dignified peace, and further deepening defense cooperation between Ukraine and the Netherlands. Thank you for your readiness to continue supporting Ukraine. We can rely on the Netherlands, and that matters. I am grateful for every expression of support for our people.

I met with Ukrainian service members who are training at the European F-16 Training Center in Romania. We spoke with the cadets about specifics and conditions of their training program. We also discussed the challenges our pilots face and how the state can help address them. At the center, our guys undergo different stages of training, including theory and real sorties. The first Ukrainian pilots began their program there in 2024, and some of them already carry out combat missions to repel Russian aggression. I thank Romania, the instructors at the center, and everyone who is helping us defend ourselves and counter Russian terror. We will always be grateful to the United States for the opportunity to strengthen the protection of our sky with American fighter jets, as well as to Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, which have already transferred aircraft to Ukraine.

A lot of international work today – I spoke with the Prime Ministers of the Netherlands Rob Jetten, Portugal 4938, and Slovenia, as well as with the Chancellor of Germany Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz. Thank you for all the support. We are preparing for the EU summit, which will take place tomorrow in Brussels. Everyone can see how quickly diplomatic events are unfolding. Today, the Ukrainian and American teams began working on an upcoming meeting. Andriy Yermak and Mike Waltz have spoken, and there’s positive movement. We hope to see some results next week. We also need to resume movement in the European direction, particularly regarding our Eurointegration – the clusters in the accession negotiation process. We are counting on the support of our partners.

We are now in a new phase of development for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We have done a lot to transition the Ukrainian Air Force to a new aviation standard – Western combat aviation. From the beginning of this war, we have been talking with our partners about the need to close the Ukrainian sky from Russian missiles and aircraft. We have held hundreds of meetings and negotiations to strengthen the capabilities of our aviation, air defense, and Defense Forces. We often heard the word "impossible" in response, but we made possible what was our ambition, our defense need, and now – it is a reality in our sky. F-16s in Ukraine. We ensured this. I am proud of all our guys who are skillfully mastering these aircraft and have already started using them for our country. I thank our team for this result. I thank all the partners who are truly helping with the F-16s, and the first countries that accepted our request for aircraft – Denmark, the Netherlands, the United States, – and all our partners, – we value your support. I wish our Air Force and all our warriors to feel the pride of Ukrainians in our combat aviation and to bring Ukraine the combat results that will bring our victory closer – our just peace for Ukraine.
