The law says that federal dollars cannot go to illegal immigrants under Medicare, Medicaid, or the ACA. And I said that to him in the room. I said, You’re lying. That’s bull. You know what he did? He smirked. He doesn’t want to tell the truth. And a typical Republican trick is to try to divert it to one of these so-called “emotional” issues, even if they’re bullshit. Well, it’s not working for them. The American people don’t believe them.

Pocan: Clearly this number just seems to run inverse to the weight that he claims he actually is. I think he said 230. And that number keeps going down, and this number keeps going up. But people understand—if you’re paying more out of pocket for goods, at groceries and other things, that is the work of tariffs. When you’re paying more for things this holiday season, that’s the work of tariffs.

So I don't know where the additional 8 trillion in a day has come from. And even that initial 9 trillion the press secretary claim is highly dubious, counting a whole bunch of things that aren't actually spending, but rather are vague commitments from various countries
