Mel Brooks will make a “Spaceballs” sequel and return as Yogurt. The original 1987 Star Wars parody was a classic that even George Lucas praised. But there was a catch: after reading the script, Lucas asked Brooks to not sell merchandise. Brooks agreed and instead made this scene in the film roasting the fact that the Star Wars franchise had basically turned into a vehicle for Lucas to move an insane amount of toys, clothing and anything else that would pay a licensing fee. Worked out perfectly. Brooks didn’t get sued and we got an S-Tier parody film. May the Schwartz be with you.
