It may have been old and even a bit decrepit, but god it was truly a great place to watch a hockey game

Good description. Lol

I miss the Igloo. I usually sat in section D25, was there for Game 6 of 2009 Stanley Cup Finals

Nobody beats pa announcer John Barbero either. Simply the best.

My old man helped build the F section, use to bring home so much cool hockey memorabilia like a broken Ron Francis stick also goalie Kelly Rhudy stick, multiple singed practice pucks as they would watch the players skate on their break and they would shoot up pucks to the workers

Section E-32, for many, many years. Loud, extremely loud. You literally could feel the entire section shake. PPG is not even close to that atmosphere. Never will be.

I miss it. Paint Can has nothing on the Igloo.

I miss that place, you were on top of the ice with every seat. PPG cannot compare

Build a new one whenever they need a new arena

Best nachos I ever had anywhere.

@JoshYohe_PGH The loudest I had ever heard (where I was in attendance) was game 6 of the 91 conf finals to go to first Stanley cup. When recchi scored to take the lead in the 3rd, I swear the roof came off. And when Mario returned from retirement. It was simply amazing.

Back when fans mattered most instead of corporate greed

What a barn. Truly the last of its kind. Was lucky enough to go to a few games there in its final years

Legendary rink I’m glad I got to go the final year in 2010 for an isles penguins game. It was my dad’s first time and he’d been watching the isles there for 35 years, won’t ever forget it

Pittsburgh hockey just hits different at Mellon 🏒🔥

Greatest barn in @NHL history

@JoshYohe_PGH Utah’s building is giving me Igloo vibes. The stacked balconies.

@JoshYohe_PGH Might have to check this out one day

@JoshYohe_PGH Given the Mammoth are my mistress team, i cant wait to go out there That and trying to see a game in every arena. Ive done the Igloo, PPG, the Saddledome and 2 outdoor games at Heinz Field and Raymond James Stadium

Beaver stadium of hockey

2008 Stanley Cup Final. Ty Conklin with the Itech X-Wing Pads. I was in E-15, LGP.

I was there the summer they won the cup. City was electric then. Now it’s a dump.

If you look closely up in E17 row C you'll probably see me. That place was ELECTRIC. #DomeSweetDome

Any idea if that was G3,4 or 6 of the 2009 Final?

Miss this place 🥹

🏒 smelled like wet cement, stale beer, and stale nachos.

It wasn't perfect and surely not the biggest...even say a dusty old barn...but damn it was our dusty old barn...love that place...the overhang was my favorite to sit...you could see everything

Miss the place I was there

The best

Jeff Jimmerson was about to bring the house down

The balcony seats were the best. Watched the first 2 cup runs in those seats. You didn’t miss a thing. Everything was right in front of you.

Bring it back
