It's over for Anthropic… They lost the $200M Pentagon contract to OpenAI. Then Claude hit #1 on the App Store... and gave memory to free users. Different game. Different win.

Day 14/90 of Inference Engineering I didn't finish the MNIST in CUDA project today, which made me hesitant to post since I didn't want to put out some slop. But in the spirit of being consistent and showing up, here's a concept I've revisited today now that I've started writing CUDA again. This is an animation on the CUDA memory life cycle. Generally speaking, when writing CUDA, memory management goes through the following stages: 1. Allocate memory on the host 2.Initialize / populate the memory 3.Allocate device memory 4.Copy host data to the device 5. Launch the kernel 6. Copy device data back to the host 7. Free the memory - On a brief reflection, I'm starting to write the matmul kernels in CUDA instead of in C. So this in itself is another paradigm shift in thinking. Excited to hone my technique over the coming week. I'll update you guys when I've completed the project; otherwise I'll just make a post like usual on what I've learned during the day!

Ben Thompson says the memory makers are Iran, and by making the Strait of Hormuz mistake are inviting the whole industry to build around them "The other thing, the risk they run, is Apple. Apple's lobbying to get Chinese memory, right?" "And what is the number one focus of algorithmic changes? How can we use less memory?" "I think the memory makers probably screw themselves in the long run by creating such a massive target on their back." "I've analogized memory makers to Iran. The issue with the Strait of Hormuz is it's very effective. It's more effective if you don't use it, cuz then it's always hanging out there as something you could do. Now they did it. Turns out it worked." "But the UAE and Saudi Arabia, they're going to build pipelines. They're going to build new ports. They're not going to let this happen again." "It's very painful right now. But say Iran wants to close the Strait of Hormuz in 2035. It's not going to have any effect, because it will have been built around." "My concern for the memory makers is they might have done the same thing. No one's going to let themselves get in this situation again as far as memory goes."

introducing OpenBench v1, an open framework for measuring AI performance and efficiency for your codebase and use case. Companies are realizing that you can't simply tokenmaxx, and are frantically looking for better ways to use and measure AI use and efficiency. One approach is evidenced by the rise in model routers: OpenRouter, Cloudflare, Databricks, Vercel, and now Ramp to name a few. But they'll also need the ability to evaluate how agents are performing in their actual use cases and codebase. A good example is DoorDash's recent evals on their codebase and prs. This will become even more important as companies explore different model + harness combinations. OpenBench will be built to this direction, focusing on the cross between correctness vs efficiency in both token use and latency. Starting off, OpenBench makes it easy for anyone to add to the task set, and run a variety of harness + models. The framework also makes it easy to add any custom harness variant, for example I've been testing codex variants with ablations against the stock codex harness. OpenBench will also have tooling to help with discovering/adding reliable tasks from your repo. Today I have integrated harnesses: codex, claude, cursor, devin, grok build, pi, and eval'ed them for different models like gpt 5.6-sol, GLM 5.2, Kimi K3, Grok 4.5, etc. measuring correctness %, token use (in/out/cache), and latency.

SK Hynix's Hoshik Kim admits high bandwidth memory "is not the answer" to the memory-wall problem, and SK is working on different solutions to solve the bottleneck. "No, actually, I kind of agree with Pat. So HBM is not the answer." [SK Hynix is admitting that HBM is a bad memory?] "Nothing is a bad memory. It's a good memory, but it's not the final answer. So actually, HBM will not solve the memory-wall problem. Memory-wall problem is an inherent AI problem, which you cannot avoid." "So we try our best to provide higher bandwidth with this memory, with HBM technology even though it has some limitation, as Pat already mentioned, with thermal, IOs, cost, a lot of stuff. "But that's the only thing we got right now to help ease this memory-wall problem, memory-bottleneck problem. But at the same time, we are working in different directions to solve this memory-wall problem with different solutions."

Wow. This is the coolest AI tool I've ever used It's an AI that can take ANY post you've ever put out and turn it into hundreds of different pieces of content instantly You'll never run out of content again Put in a single post and you can turn it into: • Video scripts • Long form posts • Blog posts • Articles • Short form posts It's actually mind blowing. On top of that you can use the AI to repurpose the content as different people on X Choose an ANY account on X then hit repurpose, the AI will write the post AS THAT person I've been writing some posts as Trump lately and they're fire You can find inspiration accounts and start creating content just like them So sick O forgot to mention: I built the tool myself It's called Creator Buddy and it's the single greatest AI content creation tool of all time This is one of 8 different AI content tools built in that will help you: • Increase your following • Explode your engagement • Get paid more on X It launches THURSDAY JANUARY 23rd! Hit the link in the bio to get more details and get notified when it releases Right now over 100 people are beta testing it and the feedback and growth has been insane The best part is, it's not just a super tool, it's also an exclusive community. I'll be meeting with members every single week! Can't wait for you to use it!

$ChatGPT 5.6 is the greatest technology I've ever used I've been testing it in early access and I can confidently say it's as smart as Fable for a fraction of the price It's harness is also 100x better Here's everything you need to know about getting the most out of ChatGPT 5.6$

Instead, create a system for repetitive learning. Find ways to expose yourself to the same info repeatedly until it's ingrained in your memory. Doing this makes the new information second nature to you, up to the point where you can visualize it in your sleep.

What it's like being on Omarchy. Basically your agents can control the whole OS experience, shape it to be how you want. I setup a plugin that takes compute you have and plugs it into your preferred harness. I need to run this on dgx sparks /,:

fastest leverless on the market by far. Inputs feel very different you need to adapt your timings, because the diff is huge... i need to build new muscle memory to use that. i will never go back to something else after this ^^

It takes 5 minutes to create a world-class web research agent that runs 24/7 and returns structured search results. 1. You can limit the sources it's allowed to use 2. You can specify the goals it needs to complete 3. You can design the format structure of the results 4. You can configure how much computing power it will use I show you how to set up a Web Search Agent in the video. A few benefits here: 1. This is great for complex research tasks 2. It's really easy to add this like a LEGO piece to a more complex workflow 3. Create an agent once, and reuse it with different inputs 4. The agent adapts to your use case as you work with it By the way, Nimble published a whole library of templates and research agents you can reuse and modify. You can start sending queries to one of these existing agents, and it will begin to adapt to Go here to try it out: Thanks to the Nimble team for partnering with me on this post.

Chase Hughes just revealed a wild way to edit traumatic memories using hypnosis on the Joe Rogan Experience. HUGHES: “I figured out a way to edit memory… I can take you back and change your perspective on trauma.” “You go back to that event when you got kicked in the nuts and everybody laughed at you in elementary school… and you can reprocess that memory in a very short amount of time as an adult with the perspective of an adult.” “Instead of modifying the memory like ‘oh that never happened’ — the memory stays. The perspective changes.” “And it’s exactly what psychedelics do. This massive perspective shift on memory… their whole life can be different after that day.” He says he’s done this hundreds of times and it creates real downstream effects.

🗣️ Eric Collins to those saying he's "too much": "I totally get it. It is what it is. But I've done this the exact same way ever since I started doing it back in the '90s. It's just always been my thing. It's natural, it's organic, it's the way I feel in the moment." "It's just who I am. I could always try to be different and be like everyone else, but why be a bad version of someone else when you can try to be the best version of yourself? And that's just who I am. It's got me this far and I probably can't change, and if someone really wants me to change, I'm just going to have to leave. So it is what it is." Full segment on Wake Up Barstool:
