At this point I’m so numb that when I do get kind words I don’t even know how to react or feel. It’s foreign. I’ve been beaten down my entire life since I was a kids by strangers and even my own family. It is what it is I always say…

What really sucks is working your butt off to be the best man you can be for someone, and they dismiss it, and they choose to fabricate a story of how bad and evil you are… then that’s what they measure you by. Not what actually happens, by what they think your motives are

It’s true that men rarely receive compliments but this isn’t some enormous cross to carry. Men aren’t fueled by outside validation but largely instead by fulfilling a purpose. The best feeling is making someone’s day and them having no idea it was you.

Out of the nearly 2 decades I was my family’s bread winner, fisherman and provider of money I was told thank you about a dozen times. At the end of it I was given a permanently injured back, no vehicle for personal transportation, no family, no friends, no partner and no savings because I gave them tens of thousands of dollars and have nothing to show for it. If there any young fellas reading this, choose the company you keep carefully because your life depends on it.

I told my husband that he deserved to be loved and he deserved to be cherished. He teared up. I thought it was because he had been so mistreated from the previous women in his past. Then I saw this and now I understand his reaction.

Unconditional love? I really don't want unearned love. Your love doesn't have any value if it's given to everything and for no reason. Why would I want it? Men do deserve love for who they are and what they do, but don't cheapen it by calling it unconditional.
