Met Office really excelling with their explanatory graphics. Clearly 2 months rainfall for parts of Scotland & NE England in a couple of days could be catastrophic. But 50-100% of monthly rainfall for much of England may prove problematic too

Its been awful here in the Bristol area, heavy heavy rain for hours now, roads flooded. Is this whats heading north?

Yes. Very complex mix of low pressure systems circulating over the UK.

When I first saw the map, I presumed, being it was brown, that it was a water company sewage release monitoring map!!!
