Wuthering Waves PS5 Performance Test • Test Setup PS5 Slim (brand new, clean, no dust) Room temperature: 22°C with AC • Map Issue Yes, it's real. The new map is locked to around 2 FPS when opened from the menu, making it extremely laggy. • Stuttering Problems The game has severe stuttering. In some areas, it even freezes for 4–5 seconds, making the experience frustrating. • My Observation From my testing, the game appears to be running at a very high internal resolution on PS5 instead of relying on aggressive upscaling. For example, DLSS Quality at 1440p renders the game internally at approximately 1707×960 before upscaling it to 2560×1440. On PS5, however, it looks like the game is rendering at or near 2560×1440 internally and then upscaling to 4K. If that's true, it's an extremely demanding target for a base PS5. • Is This Fixable? Yes. If the game is indeed using such a high internal resolution, lowering it and using better reconstruction or dynamic resolution scaling could significantly improve performance. Running at such a high internal resolution on a base PS5 doesn't make much sense, and the game has suffered from performance issues for nearly 12 months. • Final Thoughts Kuro Games needs to address this. At this point, we can't keep blaming players, their hardware, or the engine. If the high internal resolution is the cause, it should be adjusted. One of the biggest visual upgrades with DLSS 4.5 is how it handles disocclusion. The new presets, even when upscaling from a lower internal resolution, do a better job reconstructing newly exposed/previously occluded objects and fine details compared to Preset K.

There are two things worth pointing out about upscaling in #AssassinCreed Black Flag Resynced. 1. Incorrect resolution scaling with Balanced and Performance modes: Using Balanced or Performance with any upscaler causes the game's Resolution Scale (output resolution) to drop, which also lowers the internal render resolution. As a result, these modes apply incorrect scaling and the image quality is noticeably worse than it should be. For now, the workaround is to set the Resolution Scale to 100% and manually adjust the Max Dynamic Resolution (internal resolution) to match the expected scaling for Balanced or Performance mode. 2. The game defaults to the older DLSS 3 CNN model: By default, the game uses the older DLSS 3 Preset E. While it's still a fine option, it doesn't match the image quality of the DLSS 4 Transformer model (Preset K) or the newer DLSS 4.5 (Preset L and M). So I highly recommend forcing at least Preset K through the NVIDIA App (or another tool). Even on RTX 20/30 series GPUs, with Preset K, you can maintain the same performance as before while getting better image quality by using a lower upscaling mode, like Balanced instead of Quality. Hopefully Ubisoft Support fixes the scaling issue and adds an in-game option to choose between DLSS 3, DLSS 4, and DLSS 4.5.

This was the same resolution commonly used by CRT TVs and many 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit home consoles. Then Sega introduced higher-resolution arcade games with Virtua Fighter and Virtua Racing, which used 24kHz (496×384). Sega Model 1, 2, and 3 arcade boards are famous for using this resolution. One of the reasons the Sega Saturn versions of Virtua Fighter 2 and Daytona USA looked so different from the arcade versions was because of this resolution gap. Later 3D arcade games moved to 31kHz (640×480) resolution. Sega NAOMI games are one of the best-known examples. That’s why you need to be careful when buying an arcade cabinet. Early cabinets only supported 15kHz, while the commonly seen Astro City supported both 15kHz and 24kHz. Later cabinets like Blast City, Net City, and New Net City were known as “3-mode” cabinets because they supported all three resolutions. The tricky part is that both the game board and the arcade cabinet itself can have resolution settings. If the settings are wrong, you can end up running a high-resolution game in low resolution. There’s something wrong with the DLSS implementation in #007FirstLight. In Quality mode, the game defaults to Preset K, and the internal resolution looks correct. but for some reason, DLSS is noticeably slower than FSR 3 and delivers much smaller performance gains than expected.

Metal Slug 6 was released during the series’ 10th anniversary year. It was also the first Metal Slug game to move beyond the Neo Geo platform and launch on the Atomiswave system. Since it came out during a period when the arcade market was already in decline, not many people seem to remember this title today. While the graphics did improve with the platform change, it doesn’t quite capture the finely crafted pixel art style that made Metal Slug 2 and 3 so memorable. In particular, the high-resolution backgrounds can feel a bit awkward because they don’t always blend naturally with the lower-resolution character sprites. The game also introduced Clark and Ralf as playable characters, along with unique special abilities for each character. A new weapon switching system was added as well, allowing players to carry and swap between two weapons. Another feature I thought was a good idea was Easy Mode, where you start with a Heavy Machine Gun by default, although you can’t access the Final Mission. It felt like a nice addition for more casual players.

✨ I increased the max resolution for my open-source upscaler to 20,000 x 20,000 pixels (or 400 megapixels) 🤯 This makes it by far the highest resolution AI upscaler available It takes 26 minutes to run on an A100 GPU 80GB and produces a 100MB JPG file 😱 The higher upscale resolution is possible because I am running a second replicate model now which runs on a larger GPU with 80GB VRAM I would like to increase the resolution even higher but it runs out of VRAM for higher resolutions which I might be able to fix by changing the tiling settings 🛠️ My code is open-source, and I also host a very easy-to-use version on my website Clarity AI, where users can upscale anything between 2 and 20,000 pixels now

Star Fox 64, running natively on iPhone and iPad. Native ARM64 app. Metal rendering. 2x internal resolution and MSAA in settings. Touch controls. Controller support. Running on real hardware. Not an emulator, and not streaming from a Mac. HarbourMasters built Starship, the native source port. I built StarshipPad on top: the iOS/iPadOS layer, Files import, on-device setup, and mobile lifecycle. The surprise is iPhone: it doesn’t feel like a compromise. It feels like a real way to play. I used Codex 5.6 Sol to do the iOS integration work. Source, build guide, and ROM-free IPA below.
