Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed Mexico's opposition to foreign intervention during a press conference: "Mexico's position in the face of any form of intervention is firm, clear, and historic. Following the recent events in Venezuela, the government of the United States carried out a direct intervention that resulted in the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as well as in the loss of human lives. Mexico reaffirms a principle that is not new and admits no ambiguities: we categorically reject intervention in the internal affairs of other countries."

Sheinbaum openly admits the threat exists, that Trump pushed for action, and that the cartels are a real issue… yet still blocks any attempt to dismantle them. Although she said "cooperation yes", never accepted the help to get rid of the drug cartels in Mexico, so she made his point very clear, Sheinbaum's not going to fight cartels and just will let them take over the country.
