#MHWilds New Gunlance combo discovered! After Guard Thrust II (pokes from guard) you can release the shield and go straight into a Sweep. Not even the tooltip corner says you about this. This has lots of applications, the most useful is a very simple wyrmstake full blast loop:

Shelling into sweep indeed is still highly useful because the movement. This is for when you have to start the combo from a guard or a reload

Unrelated to the combo, I cannot pivot step anymore, is the timing different or is there no longer a long backstep after a back step?

It is a bit different. The easiest way is using charged shells like in rise

Gunlance feels like playing a fighting game loool, finding new ways to not drop the combo.
