I’m afraid I have some terrible news. The governor of America’s largest and richest state has just signed a law that puts 10 million children and adolescents in grave danger of medical mistreatment. The media headlines have it wrong. They claim that California Governor Gavin Newsom’s new law protects children by stopping public schools from outing their new gender to their parents. It does just the opposite. It makes children vulnerable to irreversible and lifelong medical abuse and mistreatment. And it is all based on the pseudoscientific idea that some children are born into the wrong bodies and that we can change a person’s sex through drugs and surgery. For any of this to make sense, you have to understand what’s happening in Britain. Several years ago, the government appointed a well-respected pediatrician named Hillary Cass to investigate whether it was ethical to block the puberty of children, give them opposite-sex hormones, and perform surgeries on their bodies to make them feel better about their gender. Dr. Cass came back a few weeks ago and said no, absolutely not. Around the same time, the British government banned puberty blockers nationwide. And, just a few days ago, the new Labor Party government affirmed that it would maintain the former government’s ban. In her report, Cass said that the so-called “social transition,” whereby a child adopts the identity of the opposite sex, is not a neutral act and has psychological consequences. This means it is the first step toward medical intervention. What Gavin Newsom has done is actively prevented schools from informing parents that their children have been put on a medical pathway. This is an outrageous attack on the rights of children and parents. Children have a right to go through puberty. No adult should be able to block their puberty. And parents have a right to know if their child thinks that they are the opposite sex or were born into the wrong body. We have seen with leaked internal documents of the leading gender medicine group, WPATH, that these medical interventions, namely puberty blockers, hormones, and surgery, are not only irreversible but result in sterilization and loss of sexual function. Children or adolescents are simply not mature enough to understand the effects of so-called “gender-affirming care.” They cannot, in other words, give their informed consent. The new law creates the grave risk that activist teachers, students, and outside groups will convince their children that they were born into the wrong body, and hide their “social transition” from parents, which will lead to harmful medical mistreatment. As such, the law that Newsom just signed is the opposite of what both children and their parents need. We need schools to immediately warn parents if their children think they are the opposite sex. After all, this is a diagnosable psychiatric condition known as “gender dysphoria.” And if your child has a psychiatric disorder, whether anxiety, depression, an eating disorder, or gender dysphoria, you have a right to know. And schools must stop teaching children, or allowing other people to teach children, the pseudoscientific and dehumanizing ideas that it’s possible to be born into the wrong body and possible to change one’s sex. As such, either the legislature, the courts, or a ballot initiative will be required to nullify Newsom’s law. We have seen what transpired today at the Appeal Court and we want to say very clearly that the judgement is not acceptable to all of us in the Labour Party led by my humble self. I want to say very clearly that the judgement is against all known principles of law. The courts, the Supreme Courts and all courts in Nigeria have stated very clearly that the issues of leadership of a political party is an internal affairs of a political party. It is also not true and I disagree when people say that the tenure of this executive has expired. That is untrue and very unacceptable to us. Nigerians will recall that on the 27th of March 2024, we had a valid convention that was held in Nnewi and that convention is still valid and subsisting for 4 years. I want to say that the court today didn't look at that before arriving at the conclusion that the tenure has expired. I must also say clearly that the Umuahia meeting which produced the Caretaker Committee was also against the Labour Party constitution. It is only the National Chairman and National Secretary of a Political Party who has the power to convene any NEC meeting of any of sort. I want to say very clearly that we are going to appeal that decision. Today's decision of the Appeal Court is not acceptable to us and we reject it in its entirety. My name is Chris Elston, and I’m here to speak for children being irreversibly harmed by health professionals practicing what is falsely referred to as gender-affirming care. It is not caring to stop the development of children with puberty blockers. These are repurposed chemical castration and cancer drugs. It is not caring to alter their development with opposite-sex hormones. Every systematic review of the scientific literature shows that children are being harmed, and that scientific rigour is non-existent. Activist organizations pushing ideology have hijacked the medical community, and what is being done is nothing more than a live, unregulated experiment on kids. It is one of the great deceptions of our time to teach children that they might have been born in the wrong bodies! Affirming care would be to tell them that they are beautiful just as they are. No drugs or scalpels needed! Instead, children are being sterilized, and are having healthy body parts cut off. Overwhelmingly, these kids are autistic, have other mental health comorbidities, and many have suffered trauma or abuse. Girls as young as 12 are having their breasts removed, and 16-year-old boys are being castrated. State encroachment on parental rights is worsening outcomes. Here in Geneva, a child was taken from her parents because they refuse to transition her. Children have the human right to grow up with their bodies intact. It is time the Member States of the United Nations use the resolutions, procedures, and other tools at their disposal to stop this child abuse!

I've been in touch with the District Collector on that issue. I've also written a letter to the minister. The conditions are appalling, and the district collectors had some temporary toilets installed. We are also discussing this because they are planning to relocate the girls. It should not be a place that is so far from their home that it becomes difficult for them to get an education, and slowly they drop out. We have also asked the minister to locate a place that is closer and to build this school and to repair the facilities in this existing school in the meantime so that they can move back close to their homes and finish their education. I have written to the minister, and I have also spoken to the District Collector and have requested that the most important thing is that they continue their education in a safe, secure, clean, and hygienic environment. Their true power has not been realized yet and way too many are running from the real task. What is the real task? Raising the babies. Feminism has led women away from their natural roles. They have led them away from marriage and family. Their goals are the opposite of what they are designed for. Women are chasing careers exhaustively and wondering why they feel unsatisfied and unfulfilled. Fulfillment comes from family. It's the only thing that can make you feel full. Women have not yet realized their full potential or power. Mostly because they are impatient and want everything NOW. But powerful nations are built across generations so the mindset needs to be long-term. The politics women want need to be instilled in the children. As the children grow, they will pollinate society with their culture and politics. The way they act, breathe, and think will naturally spread to others. Those with weak politics will be influenced by your strong-minded children. But you have abandoned your post, and now your children are being conditioned by the wrong kind of politics. The nefarious politics from their peers sheds all over them. The poor culture leeches and possesses your children. Then you wake up one day and wonder why your children are unrecognizable. Society's planners have long understood that you control a nation by molding the minds of the youth. They have used media and education to turn your kids into enemies of your politics and culture. But none of that would be possible unless women abandoned their posts. Mothers think that because their children have food, water, and shelter, the job is done. They want to do the bare minimum and call it raising a child. But what we are dealing with is the outsourcing of parenthood. You have given the state control of your children. You have said, "I don't want to be bothered with raising my children." Until this attitude changes, and mothers see their importance and true power, politics in this country will always lead us away from God.
