False. I have been reliably informed by today’s MLB that you need to take a big uppercut swing, emphasizing launch angle, guess on what pitch is coming and swing as hard as you possibly can - emphasize exit velocity- while striking out 150+ times and batting .214.

Very funny that "you'll hit .250" used to be major league insult. Now it's a major league standard.

All these guys, Bonds, Schmidt, Gwynn were Old School, down and through the ball, finish high. HLP is a false narrative. Bonds was very intentional and knew EXACTLY what he was doing. ARod explains this very well, too, in his vid about hitting HR’s.

The feel of hitting down on the ball is just the barrel getting behind you. At some point in every swing, the barrel goes down and then up, or you wouldn’t have a follow through. Where you make contact is what causes the flight. They hit it out in front of them on the upswing

He would have 650 HRs in today’s game and parks.

But he only hit over 500...lol

Impressive to see the force he is putting into the ground with his legs when he emphasized swinging down at the ball.

@Pirates please show this to Henry Davis!
