The original album version is an earlier recording than the famous single release and sounds quite different. The more familiar version of "Fox on the Run" (heard in this clip) was recorded in 1975 and released as a single - this re-recording also featured on the US version of 'Desolation Boulevard' (released by Capitol in July 1975 and featuring a significantly altered track listing). All four members of Sweet share songwriting credits for "Fox on the Run". The band also produced the single version themselves (while former songwriter for the band Mike Chapman produced the album version). Sweet had several top 10 singles in various countries around the world, but along with "The Ballroom Blitz", "Fox on the Run" was a career-defining song for the band.
