Michael Saylor: “If quantum computing hacks your email, does it break the English language?” Language doesn’t break. You upgrade the tools around it and the protocol stays. Without major changes, Bitcoin won’t survive. It’s like flying a crop duster in the age of supersonic fighter jets.

The biggest risk to blockchain security might not come from hackers but from advances in computing itself. Quantum technology could eventually reshape how encryption works. Projects like @qlabsofficial focusing on quantum-resistant infrastructure might be ahead of the curve. Definitely worth checking out.

The analogy breaks down here. Airplanes get recalled and redesigned when a flaw is found. The engineering principle survives but the implementation changes. Bitcoin's ECDSA is the implementation, not the principle. Upgrading it is the point.

Breaking tools isn’t breaking truth Quantum might crack keys not math not first principles Bitcoin adapts at the edges not the core Protocols evolve Truth doesn’t

Michael Saylor just said quantum computers won't kill Bitcoin the same way email hacks don't kill English. → Bro, if my emails get hacked I just change my password. →If quantum breaks Bitcoin, we all change... the entire monetary system? Calm down king, we're not upgrading math itself 😂

One of the cleanest analogies I’ve heard in a long time. Quantum computing might eventually crack current encryption the same way someone can hack your email — but that doesn’t break the underlying protocol (English language or Bitcoin’s math). You simply upgrade the tools around it (post-quantum cryptography, better wallets, new standards), while the core protocol stays untouched. Bitcoin was engineered exactly like this: mathematical soundness, consistency and integrity built into the base layer. That’s why it’s survived every attack vector for 17 years and will likely survive quantum as well. The protocol doesn’t break. We just upgrade the armor around it 👀

Quantum won’t break math we’ll just upgrade the locks.

No, it doesn't break English language. Ironically, the metaphors and use of analogies in this explanation does. I've been an engineer building, designing, and explaining complex systems in simple terms for over 20 years. I've been in Bitcoin since 2013, OG of OGs. I am not boasting. I'm not being egotistical. My career has always been built on discovering truth where others hear noise. I WAS a Bitcoin maxi for over about 7 years. You can look me up, "Michael Strike Milwaukee". And I can tell you with honesty, I have no idea what some of these metaphors even mean.

This is the most retarded take I’ve heard yet. Very funny. Thanks for this.

That’s actually a smart way to frame it… the system doesn’t break, you just upgrade the security around it. Bitcoin isn’t static if tech evolves like quantum, the network can evolve too

Strong analogy. Systems don’t die, they adapt. The question is how fast the upgrade comes when needed.

Not worried at all

This war and all actions is only for USA ego not for normal people benefits he want to control whole world.

People fear what they don’t fully understand.

Yes

They’re afraid of quantum. People are always afraid of what’s new. Technology evolves, but systems built on solid laws endure. Bitcoin is one of them.

No one talks enough about governance latency in Bitcoin. The system can be mathematically sound and still socially slow to upgrade.

Im all in on this chair.

양자 컴퓨팅은 비트코인을 위협하지 않습니다

Saylor compares Bitcoin to airplanes. But airplanes get recalled when a single bolt fails. Boeing lost $30 billion over a door plug. If quantum computing cracks one wallet, you don’t need to break the protocol, you just need to break confidence. Nobody stopped flying after 9/11 but the airlines lost 80% of their value in a month. Bitcoin won’t die from quantum. But $BTC could drop 50% on the headline alone before anyone checks if the math still works. The protocol survives. Your portfolio might not.

Bro, you got it, math and code are way more secure than people's passwords

The quantum boogeyman got dismantled before it became real, no surprise there. I swear every little fud becomes a panic nowadays before any research even gets done on it.

Security evolves, not the core.

Wow, I've just lost a lot of respect for Saylor. The entire Bitcoin value prop depends on a cryptography and any change to that would be a breaking change that holders would have to opt in to or lose their assets. QC is an existential threat. Better responses would be that it's far in the future of that it would preferentially destroy other systems making the Bitcoin problems less relevant. I see QC as a problem that will be extremely difficult for the Bitcoin community to address and very likely to create a hard fork.

on-chain data is the real check. math doesnt lie.

Language is a protocol, Saylor gets it. Bitcoin's math is just as solid.

Do you think Bitcoin can adapt fast enough to quantum threats?

Hmm, interesting point about protocols… does this mean Bitcoin’s safe? 🤔

Reasoning by analogy. If quantum compute happens 1/3 of btc is at risk. Bitcoin user with public keys in transaction. Quantum compute is outside the system— doesnt this just prove his point? He using an analogy to disprove his own thesis

If quantum breaks encryption you upgrade the cryptography around the protocol. The English language didn't die when email replaced letters. Airplanes didn't stop flying when better materials emerged. Bitcoin's mathematical foundation is the constant. The tools around it evolve.

It’s not about being unbreakable… it’s about being upgradeable 👀 Protocols evolve, principles stay.

Michael Saylor n0t totally wrong… but $BTC ain’t “language,” it’s crypto math. if quantum cracks that, you don’t philosophize it away lol u patch or u bleed
